Kevin Brooks Life

Kevin M. Brooks (born on March 30, 1959) is an English writer best known for young-adult books.

The Bunker Diary, which was published by Penguin Books in 2013, received the annual Carnegie Award as the best new book for children or young adults published in the United Kingdom. The British librarians' pick was a contentious one.

Early life, family and education

Brooks was born in Pinhoe, southwest England, and was second of two brothers.

He received a scholarship to Exeter School, where he was estranged from the other students from better-off families and took solace in fantasy at the age of 11. He later studied psychology and philosophy at Aston University in Birmingham. When he was 20 years old, his father died.
