Garrison was born in Dallas, Texas, on May 23, 1980, and raised in Richardson, Texas. Garrison walked out at seventeen and met with Joe Simpson, who also worked with pop stars Jessica and Ashlee Simpson, due to his difficult marriage with his mother. Garrison served with the Simpson family for a year. He graduated from J.J. Pearce High School in 1998, and at eighteen, he moved to Los Angeles with the intention of becoming an actor. When he first assumed the role of David "Tweener" Apolskis on the television series Prison Break, he had a major break in 2005.
