The council has decided that it would appeal a 'fully generous' and 'highly unprecedented' £4.6 million payout to a worker who suffered with PTSD from assisting Grenfell fire victims before being dismissed from her £125,000-a-year job

www.dailymail.co.uk, March 17, 2024
A worker who suffered from PTSD while serving with Grenfell fire victims will appeal a'vastly overburdening' and 'unprecedented' £4.6 million award. After being dismissed from her £125,000-per-year job, the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham was ordered to pay Rachael Wright-Turner (pictured) for disability discrimination and bullying. The employment tribunal's decision, which found senior officers in Labour's administration had misled in evidence, is thought to be the highest-ever award against a public body. However, although Hammersmith and Fulham said it was "very sorry" for Ms Wright-Turner's ordeal, the prosecution would have appealed because the claim was "completely ridiculous, contested, and highly unusual."

In a historic payout, a sacked council officer who suffered from supporting Grenfell fire victims receives £4.6 million

After suing her bosses, a former council chief who suffered with the bereaved families of the Grenfell Tower fire was given a record £4.6 million payout. After being suspended from her £125,000-per-year job, the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham was ordered to pay Rachael Wright-Turner (right) for disability discrimination and bullying. The employment tribunal's decision, which found senior officers in Labour-run authority had lied in evidence, is considered to be the highest-ever award against a public body. Ms Wright-Turner, 52, said last night, although she acknowledged the sum was'substantial,' she never intended to appear at a tribunal.

According to a woman undergoing a double hand transplant, she was asked if she would take MALE hands

www.dailymail.co.uk, March 7, 2023
Kim Smith, 61, is waiting for a double hand transplant after losing her hand six years earlier due to sepsis. Kim, a resident of Milton Keynes, said she needed two hands that would best suit her body. However, she claims she was warned that if she wanted to hold out for a pair of hands from a white male donor, it would take a long time. Patients on the waiting list for transplants are asked in their psychological assessment if they would take hands from several donors in order to decide what they will or won't be able to do.
