Chantelle Houghton Life

Chantelle Vivien Houghton (born 21 August 1983) is an English television personality, glamour model, television presenter, columnist, and novelist.

In 2006, she became the first "non-celebrity" to appear in Channel 4's reality show Celebrity Big Brother, beating ten celebrities (Michael Barrymore, Maggot, Pete Burns, Traci Bingham, Dennis Rodman, George Galloway, Faria Alam, and Jodie Marsh), winning a £25,000 draw.

Houghton married former Big Brother contestant Samuel Preston of The Ordinary Boys in August 2006 following a lengthy on-screen courtship.

Early life

Houghton was born in Wickford, Essex, England, on August 21st, 1983, to her parents Allan and Vivien, and she has an older brother, Gregg. She attended Bromfords School in Wickford, the same school where Big Brother 8 champion Brian Belo attended many years later. She left school at the age of 15 with seven GCSEs, then worked in a bank and as an insurance consultant.

Personal life

On April 11, 2006, Houghton revealed her commitment to Preston. Each has a £300,000 contract. They were married on August 25, 2006 at Dartmouth House in Mayfair, London, according to a newspaper.

The couple lived in Preston, Brighton, after their honeymoon. Houghton admitted that Preston told her one month after the fact that he did not want to marry her. The couple continued to appear in various publications, with Houghton losing weight and coloring her hair brunette to look more like Preston's former fiancée Camille.

They announced in a joint statement ten months later that they were ending their marriage on the 27th of June 2007. "We've unfortunately agreed to end our marriage after so much soul-searching and tearful discussions," they wrote in the note. "We hope we can always be friends and love each other, but we both agree that putting so much pressure on one another to make our marriage work that it has ended up in divorce." No one else is involved in our decision." In November 2007, the couple divorced.

Houghton had a friendship with British television host Rav Wilding. In 2011, the couple were divorced.

In November 2011, Houghton confirmed she was pregnant by competitive fighter Alex Reid. Houghton gave birth to a child on June 17, 2012. In October 2012, the couple divorced.

Chantelle Houghton Career

Career

Houghton entered a 2001 competition run by Motor Cycle News magazine, and after winning it, she became a promotions girl. She wanted to be like her heroine Jordan by allowing her mother to take some topless photos in a local park, which was an interesting start to some glamorous modelling. She entered a Daily Star competition as a Page 3 girl in 2003, but only appeared in the tabloid newspaper once.

On the Soccer AM show for Sky Sports, Houghton appeared as a Soccerette model and later worked with a lookalike company portrayeding Paris Hilton. In 2005, she took part in a Miss Greater London beauty pageant, where she lost to Jenny Velasquez.

Houghton intended to be in Big Brother 6 as a stand-by for the series, but producers decided against using her in the forthcoming celebrity version as a "fake celebrity."

On the first day, Houghton entered the house as the first non-celebrity to join Celebrity Big Brother. Big Brother informed her that her front story was that she was a member of a fictional group called Kandy Floss. According to Big Brother, Houghton was the lead singer. "I Want It Right Now," "Come Back," and "More More." Their most popular hit was "I Want It Right Now." Had she failed to convince them, she would have been barred from the house. She deceived her housemates and lived to the end of the program. Despite not being a natural blonde, Houghton described herself as a "bright, blonde bimbo" on her Big Brother profile page. "I look like Paris Hilton, not on purpose, but it's just the way it turned out," she said.

Big Brother set a challenge to the group on 8 January (day four) to determine how popular they were. The celebrity they felt was the most well-known stood on the No. 10 was the person who made the most news. On the No. 1 podium, one podium and the individual they felt was least popular stood on the No. 1. On the 11th podium, there are 11 candidates. Houghton was unable to be drafted into the No. 6 after being refused entry. 11 podium to convince the real stars that she had deceived the fake celebrities that she was famous and that she should stay in the house. Houghton fought the challenge and was chosen to stand on the No. 1 for the first time. Samuel Preston and Maggot are on the 9 podium, ahead of him. She was then called to the diary room to discuss her relationship with Big Brother. This was simultaneously shown on a television screen in the lounge, in front of the other housemates.

On Day 21, Houghton was scheduled for eviction but was saved by the public as the other two contenders (George Galloway and Dennis Rodman) left the house in a double eviction. While in the house, Houghton formed close friendships with Jodie Marsh and Preston.

Houghton won the public vote on Saturday, beating Michael Barrymore on 22.7%, earning her GB£25,000 (the stars were reportedly paid up to £150,000 per episode).

Following the conclusion of Big Brother 2010 and the closing of Big Brother on Channel 4, Houghton re-entered the Big Brother house for Ultimate Big Brother. She and her ex-husband Preston walked into the house. During the show, Houghton reformed the fake band Kandy Floss alongside fellow Ultimate Big Brother housemates Victor Ebuwa and Nadia Almada for a task. Houghton survived eviction on Day 11 and then landed third place on the final three-way vote on Day 18, behind Nikki Grahame and winner Brian Dowling.

Chantelle, the Dream, was also on display in Houghton's own post-Big Brother show.

She signed a £300,000 contract with Random House in May 2006 to publish her autobiography. Living the Dream, a lifestyle magazine, was released in October 2006 and sold 50,000 copies. On the 14th February 2007 edition of Never Mind the Buzzcocks, Simon Amstell read extracts from the book, causing Preston, who was a guest on the program, to leave the set.

At the 2006 National Television Awards, Houghton was nominated in the Most Popular TV Contender category, but Nikki Grahame, a former Big Brother contestant, defeated him.
