Personal life

Mills was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He was born in Baltimore, Maryland, before he went to boarding school in Canada and Australia. He wanted to study psychology after leaving boarding school in Canada. Nonetheless, a local scout approached him one day and asked if he'd be interested in modeling. He walked for Gucci right away and booked his first runway show in New York just weeks later.

He is the youngest of five children, with two older brothers and two older sisters.

Career

Mills began his modeling career in 2001 and worked with a variety of fashion firms, most notably Wilhelmina Models, where he began his modeling career. Mills made his debut as a runway model for the fall Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent collections in Milan and Paris in 2004. He signed a Dolce & Gabbana deal in early 2005.

For many seasons now, he has been a fixture at the Dolce & Gabbana, Versace, and Michael Kors shows. Mills appeared in the naked Dolce & Gabbana Anthology Fragrance campaign in 2009, alongside a number of other well-known designers, including Claudia Schiffer, Naomi Campbell, and Tyson Ballou.

Samantha Jones, the actor who played Sam Cattrall in Sex and the City 2 in 2010, appeared in Sex and the City 2 opposite Kim Cattrall's character. Mills became one of the models to model in Lacoste's "new look" campaign in January 2011, a new advertising style under the new tagline, "Unconventional Chic." Models were photographed by Mert and Marcus in the iconic white Lacoste polo shirts worn over fancy black evening wear.

Mills appeared on CBS sitcom 2 Broke Girls in 2011, 2011 and 2012, portraying Robbie, Max's (Kat Dennings) boyfriend. Taylor Swift's 2012 film "We Are Never Ever Going Back Together" as her former love interest.

Mills appeared in "The Money Guys" in 2012, ranked third in the 2013 edition.

Mills appeared in Candyland, a short film written and directed by Jouri Smit in 2012. The film is a 19-minute art film that shows the severity of which prescription drug use has risen to epidemic proportions, to a terrifying degree. The film is a silent film, but in the sense that, although ambient sounds can be discerned, voices can't.

Mills appeared in WRACKED, a short film directed by Victoria Mahoney, which he also wrote and co-produced in 2013. Mills plays Sean, who returns home after serving a five-year prison term and facing "the remains of a life interrupted." Mills received the best actor award at the 2013 Golden Egg Film Festival for this role. (Beau Knapp) was also nominated for Best Short and Best Support Actor.

Mills was included as one of the principal male models in Details' September 2015 issue, as well as thirty other top male models, which were photographed by Mark Seliger.

Mills appeared in The Brave as Sgt. Joseph "McG" McGuire, as well as Mike Vogel and Anne Heche, appeared on "McG" McGuire. He was a combat medic with a special group of army intelligence officers.
