Kerwin Mathews Life

Kerwin Mathews (January 8, 1926 – July 5, 2007) was an American actor best known for his appearances in The 7th Voyage of Sinbad (1958), The Three Worlds of Gulliver (1960) and Jack the Giant Killer (1962).

Early life

Mathews was born in Seattle, Washington, on January 8, 1926, and was two years old when he and his divorced mother moved to Janesville, Wisconsin, where he attended Janesville High School, graduating in 1943. "A kind high school teacher put me in a play, and it changed my life," Mathews said.

He spent two years at Milton College as a pilot and swimming instructor during World War II before transferring to Beloit College on drama and music scholarships. He stayed in Beloit three years after graduating, teaching voice and dramatic arts and appearing in regional theatre. In Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, he also taught high school English.

Later career

Mathews appeared in Barquero (1970), Death Takes a Holiday (1971), and Octaman (1971). He appeared on GM and Ironside as a guest star. He died in 1970 when he was in charge of The Boy Who Cried Werewolf (1973), directed by Juran.
