Kavita Kaushik (born on February 15, 1981) is an Indian actress.

Kutumb, Ekta Kapoor's, made her television debut.

Kaushik is best known for her role in SAB TV sitcom F.I.R., which began her career in India television and made her a household name.

Kaushik had appeared in the dance reality show Nach Baliye and was one of the eight participants in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa's eighth installation.

On Sab TV's Dr.'s Dr.'s, Kavita played the lead role.

Early life

Kaushik was born in New Delhi, India, on February 15th, 1981 to a Brahmin family. She is the niece of Dinesh Chandra Kaushik, a former CRPF officer. She graduated in Philosophy from Indraprastha College for Women, Delhi, in philosophy.

Personal life

Kaushik was in a relationship with fellow television actor Karan Grover, and they appeared on celebrity couples dance reality show Nach Baliye 3. In 2008, the couple split up. In January 2017, she married Ronnit Biswas, her best friend businessman, in a romantic ceremony.

Career

During her college years, Kaushik began modelling, staging functions, and anchoring. She appeared in Kutumb for the first time in 2001 and then moved to Mumbai. Kaushik appeared in Kahaani Ghar Kii of Ekta Kapoor, playing Manya Doshi. She appeared in two shows, Kohi Apna Sa and Kammal, in 2002.

Kavita appeared in Sony TV's Kahani Terrii Merrii and Zee TV's Piya Ka Ghar in 2004. In an episodic appearance, Ruby Dub and Tumhari Disha, she appeared on television's Dil Kya Hai, Raat Hone Ko Hai. Ek Pyara Sa Bandhan was a professional actress who starred in another daily soap Remix as Naina Kulkarni from 2004 to 2005. Kaushik appeared in Ye Meri Life Hai and C.I.D. for a brief period of time. Kaushik made his Bollywood debut in 2004, with Ek Hasina Thi playing Saif Ali Khan's mother. Kaushik returned to television in 2005 with the show Rooh, followed by playing Deepika in Saarrthi.

Kaushik's breakthrough came in 2006, when she was roped in to take the lead in SAB TV's longest running sitcom, F.I.R. Chandramukhi Chautala. She portrayed the role until the end. Kaushik was mostly glamorous and negative roles in her first days in work, owing to her height frame and attractive demeanor. Chandramukhi Chautala in F.I.R. used to be a model of sorts. It was a turning point in her career, and it marked a change from the narcotic roles that she was being offered at the time. The sitcom turned out to be a hit, with 1000 episodes. Kaushik became a well-known Indian television actress who speaks in a Haryanavi accent, and she has received several awards for her role. The show took a 20-year leap during Chitrashi Rawat's tenure off FIR, with actress Chitrashi Rawat playing Jawalamukhi Chautala, Chandramukhi's daughter. Kaushik made a comeback in FIR donning her previous role as Chandramukhi Chautala in July 2013, although Rawat was asked to abandon the role. In January 2015, the show came to an end.

Arre Deewano Pehchano, Kaushik's reality show, premiered in 2009. Kaushik departed the show in January 2013 to appear in another SAB TV sitcom Tota Weds Maina opposite Gaurav Gera. The story was based on Tota (Gera) and Maina (Kaushik), as well as the situations that ensued after they mistakenly married one another. In the same year, the show saw a dip in the TRPs and went off air.

Kaushik has appeared in films such as Mumbai Cutting (2009) and Phillum City (2011), in addition to her numerous television appearances. In Apoorva Lakhia's Zanjeer (2013), she performed to an item song, Shakila Bano.

Kaushik and VJ Andy co-starred on Sony TV's sports reality show, Box Cricket League, in 2014. Kaushik appeared on Colors TV's celebrity dance competition, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 8, in July 2015. However, she was disqualified in the second week. Kaushik blasted the Jhalak stage during its grand finale in October 2015 after the Comedy Nights Bachao team insulted her and turned her mike off.

Kaushik held a show Fakebook with Kavita in October. Kaushik secured the lead role in Dr. Bhanumati On Duty, SAB TV's Dr. Bhanumati on Duty in June 2016. Debina Bonnerjee took over the show after a month, and Debina Bonnerjee took her place. However, after Kaushik's departure, the show did not do well and ended in September 2016.

Kaushik appeared in a Bollywood film titled Lollipop Since 1947. The film, directed by Anirudh Chautala, was a political satire set in a lower middle-class household in which Kaushik plays wife to actor Deepak Dobriyal. Kaushik made a guest appearance on Sakshi Tanwar's cooking reality show Tyohaar Ki Thaali as a contestant in 2017. With Vekh Baraatan Challiyan (2017), Kaushik made his debut in the Punjabi film industry. She appeared in two other Punjabi films, Vadhayiyaan Ji Valianthayaan and Nankana, as well as Anas Rashid.

Kaushik performed at Star Bharat's crime show, Savdhaan India, from 2018 to 2019. Mindo is a Punjabi film that was starring Mindo in 2019. Kaushik appeared in Colors TV's Kitchen Champion 5 alongside Aamir Ali and Arjun Bijlani, and the final presentation was made by Arjun Bijlani.

Kaushik appeared on the reality show Bigg Boss 14, competing as a wild card contestant in October 2020. She was first arrested but then rejoined. She walked out of the house after a November brawl with Rubina Dilaik.
