Katie Sherwood (née Daley; 5 January 1986) is a former footballer who played for the Welsh national women's team.

Sherwood plays as a central midfielder and has a half-century of caps for Wales.

Sherwood is qualified as a teacher. She is married to Jamie Sherwood, who became manager of Cardiff City Ladies in summer 2012. They have one son.

Club career

Sherwood began her playing career at Cardiff City and was named joint Most Improved Player and the club Achievement Award for season 2001–02. Sherwood helped Cardiff win the Welsh Women's Cup and then captained the team in the UEFA Women's Cup later this season.

In 2005, she received a scholarship to Middle Tennessee State University and played varsity soccer for two seasons.

She returned to Cardiff City in 2008, but they were delegated in 2008. Sherwood was then a member of the Welsh contingent at Bristol Academy. In February 2012, she joined Chelsea Ladies in Bristol and started using the surname Sherwood rather than Daley.

Sherwood signed for Yeovil Town in November 2013, who were about to start the FA WSL's second division.

International career

Sherwood captained Wales at the youth level and then scored three goals in 24 games for the U19 team. In February 2002, she was accepted into the Algarve Cup's senior squad. In a 4–0 loss to Canada in Lagoa, Portugal on March 3, 2002, she made her senior debut aged 16.
