Kane Hodder Life

Kane Warren Hodder (born April 8, 1955) is an American actor, stuntman, and author. Hodder is best known for his portrayal of Jason Voorhees (five times) in the Friday the 13th franchise, with four films from the film series: Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood, Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan, Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday, Jason X and the video game Friday the 13th: The Game.

He is also known for his role as Victor Crowley in the Hatchet series.

He also played Leatherface during the stunts of Leatherface: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre III and Freddy Krueger's clawed glove hand in Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday.

Personal life

Hodder is an avid poker player. He has the word "Kill!" tattooed on the back of his bottom lip. He spends time working with children in burn centers, and despite the roles he often plays, Hodder has often been described as a very friendly man who loves to meet his fans.

For a long time, Hodder claimed his favorite kill scene in his films was the "sleeping bag against a tree" scene from Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood. He now considers the one where he rips a woman's face in half from Hatchet (2006) to be his favorite.

Hodder is a noted Juggalo, a fan of the group Insane Clown Posse. To reflect this, he has a custom charm of the group's "hatchetman" logo holding a machete instead of a hatchet, a reference to his role as Jason.

Hodder appeared on the December 4, 2012 episode of the TruTV show Hardcore Pawn, in which he had a miniature gold mask made from a piece a fan had made for him.

Along with poker Hodder is also an avid ghost hunter. He founded the Hollywood Ghost Hunters group with former stuntman and friend Rick "Stuntman" McCullum who was a stunt double for Sid Haig.

In 1984, he married his wife Susan B. Hodder and has two sons name Jace Hodder and Reed Hodder.

Kane Hodder Career

Life and career

In 1955, Hodder was born in Auburn, California. During an interview, he suggested to show the interviewer and her cameraman a fire stunt, which went horribly wrong, leaving him with 2nd and 3rd degree burns over much of his upper body. He was first chosen to play Freddy Krueger in a Nightmare on Elm Street, a role that would eventually go to Robert Englund, where he had a lifelong friendship. In a series of four films from Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood to Jason X, he was the first actor to ever perform Jason Voorhees more than once. In the final scene of Jason Goes to Hell, he portrayed horror icon Leatherface through stunt work on his 1990 film Leatherface: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre III. In Jason Goes to Hell, he served as a police guard. Jason takess Manhattan in costume as Jason in an episode of The Arsenio Hall Show to promote on Friday, September 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan.

Despite he promised to reprise his role as Jason Voorhees in the 2003 film Freddy vs. Jason, Ronny Yu replaced Hodder with 6'5" Canadian stuntman Ken Kirzinger. The switch caused controversies among fans of the series, including Kirzinger's location in Canada and his height relative to Robert Englund, the actor who portrayed Freddy Krueger, although Yu himself said that it was New Line Cinema's idea to do so. Despite Hodder's resentment over not being selected, he is also a good friend with Kirzinger and Englund. Hodder's autobiography Unmasked, with author Michael Aloisi, was released in 2011. This was turned into a Webseries in 2014 and was published as The Killer & I.

Victor Crowley, a physically impaired young boy who comes back from the dead to murder the people who live in the swamp, is a similar tale to Jason Voorhees. The actor received the Horror Jury Award for Best Actor at the Fantastic Fest in Austin, Texas. He played Hatchet II, Hatchet III, and Victor Crowley.

In the old-school slasher film Muck and its sequel Muck: Feast of Saint Patrick, the Hodder portrayed Grawesome Crutal. In the horror film Love in the Time of Monsters, he co-starred Doug Jones and Michael McShane. He appeared in Adam Green's ArieScope webseries, Scary Sleepover, in March 2015.

Kane Hodder reprised his role as Jason Voorhees in The Game on Friday, November 13th.
