Justin Garrett Whalin (born September 6, 1974) is an American actor.
He is best known for his appearances in Child's Play 3 and Jimmy Olsen's American television series Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman.
Early life
Whalin was born in San Francisco's Sunset District. Terry Villanueva, a teacher and school administrator who owns and operates two Los Angeles area schools: The Learning Castle and La Cadera Preparatory. Craig Whalin, his father, is a real estate appraiser. When he was seven years old, his parents divorced, and both remarried. Danny Quiros, his younger halfbrother, Michael Galo-Rothman, an older stepbrother, and Michele Dahlberg, an older stepsister.
He studied at the American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.). I lived in San Francisco and attended Lowell High School. Since years of commuting between Los Angeles and San Francisco, he and his mother were able to Los Angeles permanently when he was 15 years old. He received his high school education from U.C. Berkeley's homeschooling initiative.
Career
Whalin is best known for his appearances in films such as John Waters' cult classic Serial Mom, Child's Play 3, and The New Adventures of Superman (1994 to 1997).
Since being introduced as an actor in San Francisco's Victoria Theatre, Whalin has been acting as an actor since the age of 11. He appeared in Other Mothers, a 1993 CBS Schoolbreak Special, for which he received a Daytime Emmy Award for his portrayal of a son with lesbian parents. He continued to appear in Miracle at Midnight opposite Mia Farrow and Sam Waterston. Billy Loomis was also auditioned for Scream's Billy Loomis. Whalin retired from teaching in 2009 and now works as a social studies/drama coach and administrator at The Learning Castle & La Caya Preparatory, an exclusive school in the Los Angeles area.
