Randall Park Life

Randall Park (born March 23, 1974) is an American actor, comedian, and writer.

In the 2014 film In Fresh Off the Boat, he is best known for his portraying Kim Jong-un.

He had gained notoriety playing Steve, a prank replacement for Jim Halpert in an episode of The Office in 2012.

He appears in the Marvel Cinematic Universe film Ant-Man and the Wasp as FBI agent Jimmy Woo and as Dr. Jeremy Morrow in the DC Extended Universe film Aquaman as Dr.

Stephen Shin is the founder of Stephen Shin.

Early life

Park was born in Los Angeles, California, and grew up in Castle Heights, Los Angeles. His mother, Julia, was an accountant at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), and his father owned a one-hour photo store. Park graduated from Hamilton High School's humanities magnet program.

In the winter quarter of 1993, Park began attending UCLA. He co-founded "Lapu, the Coyote That Cares," the oldest and longest-running Asian American theater company, now known as the LCC Theatre Company, as a student. He cites his experience with LCC as sparking his interest in acting professionally, and hopes to work with many of the company's alumni. Treehouse Bachelor Society, a full-length play Park had written, was the first performance at the Northwest Auditorium, and it was their first appearance. Park spent time at UCLA's official charity, UCLA UniCamp, and went by the camp name "CareMoose."

He received a bachelor's degree in English with a specialization in creative writing, as well as a minor in Asian American studies from UCLA in 1997. He stayed at UCLA partly to continue with LCC and then finished his master's degree in Asian American studies in 1999. Park worked as a graphic/print designer for a few years after graduating from the University of New Times, Los Angeles. When he left work, he considered attending architecture school but decided against attending any more classes.

Personal life

Jae Suh Park is married to actress Jae Suh Park. They worked on The Mindy Project and the short film Love, NY, together. Ruby and her daughter Ruby live in the San Fernando Valley.

Park reacted with enthusiasm at the commencement of the Asian American Studies department in 2015 and the English department's commencement ceremony in 2017.

Ruby Louise Park, a girl who was born in 2012, has a sister, Park and Jae Suh. Ruby Louise appeared in Baby Mentalist, a comedy web series created by her father in 2013, alongside her parents as a crime-fighting baby superhero. Ruby Louise is autistic, as Park on Mike Birbiglia's podcast Working It Out. Park supports the non-profit KultureCity's emphasis on "sensory accessibility and acceptance for those with invisible disabilities." Park is on the board of directors of CultureCity.

Park has an older brother. Park's parents were not enthusiastic of his acting aspirations at the beginning. Park has appeared on television shows including Community, Curb Your Enthusiasm, New Girl, The Office, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Four Kings, Las Vegas, House, iCarly, Cold Case, The Mindy Project, and Reno 911.

He co-founded the Propergander theater company with a few LCC alumni. Michael Golamco, a co-founder of LCC, made The Achievers in 2001. Park began doing stand-up comedy in his backyard around the time of Propergander's performances. Mike Birbiglia and Mitch Hedberg were among his early influences, and he would later appear alongside comedian Ali Wong. Vivian Bang, Tim Chiou, Samantha Quan, and Eddie Shin are among the notable alumni. Naoya Imanishi, Park, Shin, and LCC co-founder Naoya Imanishi were also members of "The Legendary Stage Ninjaz," a short lived improv group, as well as comedian Ali Wong.

Park appeared on screen in the 2003 short film Dragon of Love, which received Best Short Film at the 2003 Hawaii International Film Festival.

Park co-wrote and appeared in the feature film American Fusion, directed by UCLA alumnus Frank Lin, which received the Audience Award at the 2005 Hawaii International Film Festival. It was actor Pat Morita's last film appearance before his death in November of that year. The script was a quarter-finalist for the 2009 Nicholl Fellowship in Screenwriting.

He would book roles through diversity showcases at various television networks early in his career, when Park did not have a talent agent. He was on display in the CBS Diversity Showcase in 2006. While being a cast member of MTV's Wild 'n Out, he worked at Starbucks to supplement his income at 32.

He appeared on the filmmaking reality show On the Lot in 2007 as an actor.

Park found jobs in 2009 due to the Great Recession in the United States in 2008 and a potential SAG-AFTRA strike at the start of 2009, so he began to concentrate on his own projects during this time. In 2010, he directed Blueberry, which received an award for Best Actor at the NBC Shortcuts Film Festival For Short Films.

Park has worked on several projects with Wong Fu Productions. In the comedy skit Too Fast (2010) and the stepfather in the web series Home Is Where the Hans Are (2012), he has appeared as Brandon. Park started playing a D.E.I. In the comedy skit Why is Santa Asian? and a brief cameo as himself in Asian Bachelorette 2.

Dr. Miracles, The Food, IKEA Heights, and Dumb Professor were among Channel 101's short internet series starring him. He produced, wrote, and appeared in several short internet series, including Dr. Miracles, The Food, IKEA Heights, and Dumb Professor. In 2013, he wrote and appeared in a Channel 101 series starring his baby daughter, Baby Mentalist. Baby Mentalist was rated number one on the most time of any show at the time, ending with six episodes in 2013.

On the HBO comedy Veep, Park portrayed Minnesota governor Danny Chung in a recurring role.

Park, a Neighbors business, recruited college students in 2014. On The Five-Year Engagement (2012), he had worked with director Nicholas Stoller. In the controversial film The Interview, directed by Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen, Stoller later recommended Park for the role of "a vague North Korean dictator" who later turned out to be North Korean leader Kim Jong-un. After one audition, Goldberg and Rogen were impressed by his audition, and Park was offered the position. Park gained more than 20 pounds for the job. Forest Whitaker's appearance in The Last King of Scotland and the Vice documentary on North Korea inspired reference material on the subject.

He appeared in the Jason Segel/Cameron Diaz comedy, Sex Tape, earlier this year.

In 2015, Jeff appeared in the prequel 2015 Netflix series Wet Hot American Summer: The First Day of Camp. He appeared in Everything Before Us, Wong Fu Productions' first feature film. In the music video for Eminem's single "Phenomenal," Park appeared with John Malkovich. He also appeared in Trainwreck as a coworker of Amy Schumer's character. He appeared in Southpaw (as Jed Wang) and The Night Before Ethan's Boss.

Park starred Louis Huang, patriarch of a Taiwanese American family, alongside Constance Wu, in ABC's television show Fresh Off the Boat (based on Eddie Huang's memoir, Fresh Off the Boat: A Memoir), written and produced by Nahnatchka Khan and executive produced by Jake Kasdan from 2015 to 2020. He was the first actor cast on the series, with the producers having approached him before the pilot was scheduled. Park was initially unsure of portrayeding a Taiwanese father as someone of Korean origins. However, Huang reassured Park that he was Huang's first choice to play his father. Park suggested Ali Wong for the position when they were working in the writer's room. The series ran for six seasons and was officially concluded on February 21, 2020.

Park appeared in both the Marvel Cinematic Universe and DC Extended Universe in 2018. (DCEU) In the Marvel Studios film Ant-Man and the Wasp, Jimmy Woo played FBI Agent Jimmy Woo. In the Disney+ series WandaVision (2021), Park returned as Woo. He played Dr. Stephen Shin in the film Aquaman in the DCEU.

Park produced and appeared in the Netflix original film Always Be My Maybe, directed by Freshman Nahnatchka Khan with Ali Wong. Park, Wong, and Michael Golamco wrote the film. Hello Peril, Park's 90s hip hop band, Ill Again, has inspired the in-film hip hop band Hello Peril. On May 29, 2019, the film was released in selected theaters and on Netflix's digital version on May 31, 2019.

In October 2019, Park, Golamco, and Hieu Ho formed Imminent Collision, an Asian American-focused production company, and announced their first look at the 20th Century Fox Television network. The name comes from a play that they performed while attending a UCLA LCC theater group.

Park was announced as the star of the upcoming Netflix comedy series Blockbuster in 2021.
