Watson returned to Texas and graduated from Richardson High School in 1992 after his employment ended.
Personal life
Watson was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma in May 2002 and took a leave of absence from 7th Heaven while undergoing surgery. It was reported in remission as of April 2003, and the program resumed, beginning with the 150th episode.
Watson has been married three times. Laura Payne-Gabriel, whom he encountered through actress Tori Spelling, was his first marriage. Career
Watson, who was 19 years old at the time, travelled to Los Angeles, where he worked parking lots at a House of Blues nightclub while auditioning for roles. He has appeared in several television series, including Baywatch and Sister, Sister. He was eventually chosen for a small part in Aaron Spelling's Malibu Shores. Despite the fact that his role was brief, it led to Aaron Spelling's new venture, 7th Heaven.
Watson's portrayal as Matt Camden on The WB's 7th Heaven brought him much deserved praise. Watson said in 2016 that his attitude at the time was one of wanting to get paid despite his unsureness about the scheme or why the people concerned wanted him to participate in the first place. After the sixth season, he stopped being a full-time regular, but he continued to guest star on the show until its tenth season. He was brought on to write an episode by series creator and producer Brenda Hampton in his 7th Heaven break. During the eleventh and final seasons, he did not appear at all.
In 1999, he appeared in his first film with fellow WB actor Katie Holmes in Teaching Mrs. Tingle. Watson hoped that his presence in the film would help him avoid being pigeonholed by his appearance in 7th Heaven. Watson became "strange" on film at times due to his being the only male on set, but he had "an amazing experience" working with his co-stars. Watson produced two episodes of 7th Heaven in 2005, and in 2010, he produced one episode of The Secret Life of the American Teenager.
Watson played Dave and his alter ego Daisy in Sorority Boys in 2002; his appearance was met with mixed reception despite the film being banned. Lindy Keffer of pluggedin.com said in a critical review that Watson's presence in the film would bring it further notice.
