Early life
Demorest was born in Michigan and grew up in a strict Catholic family. "I grew up in church, seven days a week," she said in a chat. The service was mainly driven by music, so the pastor established a performing-arts academy down the street. It was my preparation" that led to drama, dance, and choir rehearsals.
