Maisie Richardson-Sellers (born 2 March 1992) is a British actress.

She is best known for her recurring role as Rebekah Mikaelson/Eeva Sinclair on The CW's The Originals, as well as her starring roles as King Saul of Israel's daughter Michal in the ABC Biblical series King Saul of Israel's daughter Michal, and As Amaya Jiwe / Vixen and Charlie on The CW superhero series Legends of Tomorrow.

Early life

Richardson-Sellers was born and raised in London. Joy Richardson, a black Guyanese, is married to a white British father. Richardson-Sellers are descendants of a family of stage actors. Through bursaries and scholarships, she grew up attending private schools. Richardson-Sellers earned a degree in Archaeology and Anthropology from Hertford College, University of Oxford, where she appeared and directed numerous plays, including Mephisto, Chatroom, and There Will Be Red.

Personal life

Richardson-Sellers openly identify as queer. She is in a friendship with American singer Clay.

Richardson-Sellers co-founded Shethority ("She + Authority"), an online global community for women and the feminine in 2017. Career

Richardson-Sellers started auditioning and landed her first role in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, in the cameo role of Korr Sella.

Richardson-Sellers landed her second role as Rebekah Mikaelson in the CW series The Originals in 2014, where the main character of Rebekah Mikaelson inhabits a different body after a spell gone wrong. Eva Sinclair, a female protagonist on The Originals, later played Eva Sinclair. Michael Narducci, the executive producer, said she had "an incredibly bright glow" and that "there's a lot of charm" and "there's a great beauty" – not just physical appearance but also a stunning inner beauty – which comes out in her performance. But this incredible strength isn't the only one.

Richardson-Sellers will appear in Of Kings and Prophets, a short-lived ABC drama film shot in South Africa, in early March 2015. Richardson-Sellers will appear in Amaya Jiwe / Vixen on the second season of the CW's Legends of Tomorrow, which is the grandmother of the titular character in the CW Seed animated series Vixen. On two episodes, "Zari" and "No Country for Old Dads," her mother guest starred as a distant ancestor of Jiwe. Richardson-Sellers was cast in the new role of shapeshifter Charlie after two seasons. Legends of Tomorrow's fifth season, Richardson-Sellers, has left the series in 2020.

Richardson-Sellers appeared in the short film Melody, directed by Bernard Kordieh, in 2018. Richardson-Sellers will appear in The Kissing Booth 2 as Chloe, directed by Vince Marcello for Netflix in May 2019.
