Joshua Lyons Gondelman (born January 15, 1985) is an American writer, comedian, producer, and stand-up comedian.
He is now a supervising producer and writer for Desus & Mero on Showtime.

Early life and education
Gondelman was born in Stoneham, Massachusetts, to parents Ellion Lyons and David Gondelman. He grew up in a Jewish family.
In 2003, Gondelman graduated from Stoneham High School. He graduated from Brandeis University in 2007, where he doubled majored in creative writing and English and minored in Spanish.
Personal life
Gondelman is married to Maris Kreizman, the blog's founder, and her book, Slaughterhouse 90210. Bizzy, a senior pug, lives in Brooklyn.
Career
Gondelman began doing stand-up comedy in Boston when he was 19 years old. For seven years, he was a stand-up comedian in Boston and now returns to the city occasionally. He taught elementary school Spanish after college and served as a pre-school mentor. In 2011, Gondelman moved to New York City, where his then-girlfriend lived, to do more stand-up comedy.
He also started freelance writing during this period. He co-wrote his first major story, "Both Sides of a Break Up" with his longtime ex-girlfriend; it was published in New York Magazine in 2012. He wrote a story for Esquire in 2013 about his participation in a Tough Mudder run sponsored by Wheaties in exchange for monetary compensation from General Mills and Zeus Jones. He has also contributed to The New Yorker and The New York Times.
You Blew It! is a book co-authored by Gondelman and Joe Berkowitz in October 2015. An Awkward Review of the Many Ways in Which You've Already Ruined Your Life was published.
He has opened for John Oliver, Jen Kirkman, and Pete Holmes, as a stand-up comedian, and he has appeared at numerous New York City venues. "Gondelman conveys compassion and a commonplace awkwardness with a dash of awe." Eve Peyser said on his stand-up.
Everything's The Best, his debut album, came out in 2011. Physical Whisper, his second album, was released on March 18, 2016.

Gondelman and Jaclyn Moore, formerly of BuzzFeed, launched "SeinfeldToday" on Twitter in December 2012. The account featured amusing tweets reimagining Seinfeld characters in modern-day situations. More than 900,000 followers as of October 2015, the account's last time it was active. The account received an award in the "#Fakeaccount" category at the 6th annual Shorty Awards in 2014.
Gondelman was hired by Last Week Tonight with John Oliver as the show's first web producer and became a staff writer for the second season in 2014. For his work on the program, he received a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series in 2016. In 2017, he and the writing staff of Last Week Tonight were recognized in the same award, as well as in 2017 for the Writers Guild of America.
After the series moved to Showtime in 2019, Gondelman left Last Week Tonight to become a senior staff writer and producer on Desus & Mero.
