Jon Farriss Career

Solo career

Richard Clapton produced Richard Clapton's Glory Road in 1987 and appeared on The Great Escape in 1982 as well as on drums on three tracks. Jimmy Barnes' Love and Fear co-produced, as well as performing drums, writing, bass, and keyboards, as backing vocals.

Original Sin, the 2010 tribute album produced by Farriss' co-executive, features INXS songs on the front page, with each song featuring a guest singer on each song.

"A lot of musicians have covered INXS music, Tom Jones, Joe Cocker, Snow Patrol, and many others," Farriss said, "Why don't we do it?" Why don't we start doing a re-imagined, reimagined cover album but with our own songs," he said. "And that's how it got off."

Rob Thomas, Ben Harper, Train's Pat Monahan, Nikka Costa, and several others were among the contributors.

Chris Murphy, a Farriss co-executive, produced the album. "There's a pretty tight gallery of ears that must pass through the band, including myself," Farriss said. I'm extremely critical of everything. But as the project progressed, it became abundant that part of my job as executive producer, as well as Chris Murphy, was to sort of integrate producers and, where appropriate, co-produce songs. You can't do everything by yourself at the end of the day. It's a team effort.

Smokin Joe (feat Viv Richards) was introduced in March 2015 on Farriss' own label Drum Opera. On the soul infused track, Farriss teamed up with one of cricket's greatest players of all time, Viv Richards. Richards' spoken word is included. Farriss executive produced and co-wrote the track with Walter Brandt, who performed on drums, percussion, and programming.

"Viv was such a charismatic and affable guy" on meeting Viv Richards Farriss. Straight away, we were able to recognize his obsession with music, and it wasn't difficult to figure out why. Given the similarities and my desire to hear him on a track, I approached him to see if he was interested in doing something musically, and thankfully, he said yes.

"I was excited but also slightly nervous to work with Viv. I knew this was an uncharted area. The aim was to have fun, but Farriss said of their first meeting in the studio, "I had no pressure on myself or expectation of it being a chart success or fit into a particular niche or live somewhere in particular, other than in people's hearts."

Leslie Bega, a writer from February 1992 to 1999, was married to actor Leslie Bega.

Kerry Norris, his long-time girlfriend, was married in 2006 in a small beach-side wedding. In 2008, the couple's first child was born. Their son was born in 2010.

This week, INXS reunited for the first time since 2017. Tim Farriss, Kirk Pengilly, Garry Gary Beers, Andrew Farriss, and Jon Farriss were among the group's fronted by Michael Hutchence from 1997 until his death. The group performed at Intercontinental Hotel in Sydney on Tuesday to celebrate the introduction of their new book, a 400-plus "love letter" to the corporation. During the show, supporting vocalist and keyboardist Andrew spoke to Michael.
