John Dukakis (né Chaffetz, born June 9, 1958) is an American entertainer, singer, and political advisor.
Early life
Dukakis was born John Chaffetz Jr. in San Jose, California, but the Boston area was raised. He is the son of former Massachusetts Governor and 1988 Democratic presidential nominee Michael Dukakis, who was married when he was five years old, and the grandson of Kitty Dukakis and John Chaffetz, a businessman and the adopted son of former Massachusetts Governor and 1988 Democratic presidential nominee Michael Dukakis, who married when he was five years old. Jason Chaffetz, a Utah representative from 2009 to 2017, was his half-brother, thanks to his biological father. At the age of 18, he switched from Chaffetz to Dukakis.
Acting career
Dukakis appeared in Universal's Jaws 2 when he was a student at Brown University in the 1970s. He migrated to Hollywood and continued to work as an actor for the next six years. In Family Ties, Jim Jones' documentary about Sarah, he appeared in Making Love, Delusion, and Split Image, as well as on television in Making Love, Delusion, and Split Image. He spent his time in New York on Broadway and Off-Broadway.
Political career
Since stepping down from acting, he gained a career as a legislative assistant to the United States in Washington, D.C. Senator John Kerry served in Kerry's first two years in office. In 1987, when Michael Dukakis announced that he would run for President of the United States, John left Washington and moved to Atlanta to run the Southern campaign prior to the Super Tuesday primaries in Atlanta. Later, as the Democratic National Political Director, he campaigned nationally for the unpopular Dukakis-Bentsen ticket.
