Joseph Adam King (born May 25, 1980) is an American musician, backing vocalist, songwriter, and co-founder of Denver-based rock band The Fray.
Early life
Joe King was born in Colorado on May 25, 1980. In Arvada, Colorado, he attended Faith Christian Academy. King attended college while working as an auto damage appraiser before his Fray triumph.
He learned to play the piano at an early age, but later gave up on it and switched to playing the guitar instead. It was because "the coolest guys in my eighth grade class all played guitar," he says. "I wanted to fit in."
Personal life
King Charles became married for the first time when he was 19 years old. Elise Madison King and Ava Julie King, his first wife, and Julie King, have two children together.
After meeting at a Super Bowl function in February 2012, King began dating actress Candice Accola. They became engaged in May 2013 and married in New Orleans, Louisiana, on October 18, 2014. They revealed in August 2015 that they were expecting their first child together. Florence May was born on January 15, 2016, they had a daughter, Florence May. They announced in August that they were expecting their second child together. Josephine June, Candice's second daughter, was born on December 1, 2020. Accola and King had split in May 2022.
Career
In 2002, the Fray released a Movement EP. On two tracks on the EP: "It's for You" and "Where You Want to" are King's lead: "It's for You" and "Where You Want To" are two songs.
Reason EP was released in 2003 to some local acclaim in Denver. Epic Records was prompted to sign the band in 2004.
How to Save a Life, the band's first album, which was released in 2005, brought the band mainstream success. Apart from playing guitar, King performed lead on the song "Heaven Forbid," which was about his sister. He also appeared on "How to Save a Life," "Look After You" and "Trust Me."
In 2009, the band's second album, The Fray, was released. The album's second single, "Never Say Never," was primarily written by King from his perspective of his marriage. King sang a lot more on the album "Ungodly Hour" and "Uncertainty" on the bonus track "Uncertainty," as well as backing vocals on "Syndicate" and "Absolute."
In 2012, the band released Scars & Stories, with King as the lead on "Rainy Zurich."
