She was best known for her collaborations (totalling fifteen films) with her second husband, Charles Bronson.

Life and career

The daughter of a wine importer was born in London, Ireland. She appeared in mid-1950s films including Simon and Laura (1955) and Three Men in a Boat (1956).

After the couple met while filming on the film Hell Drivers (1957), she married actor David McCallum in 1957. They appeared together in five episodes of The Man from U.N.C.L.E. later this year. "The Quadripartite Affair" (season 1, episode 7, 1964), "The Giuoco Piano Affair" (season 1, episode 8, 1964), and a two-parter "The Five Daughters Affair" (season 3, episodes 28 and 29, 1967). They had three boys, Paul, Valentine, and Jason (who were adopted). In 1967, McCallum and Ireland separated. In 1989, six months before Ireland's death, Jason McCallum died of a heroin overdose.

In 1968, Ireland married Charles Bronson. She had met him when he and McCallum were filming The Great Escape (1963) some years ago. They had a daughter, Zuleka, and adopted Katrina, a girl. They were married until 1991, just after Ireland's death.
