Pilar Pallete (born September 3, 1928) is a Peruvian actress and the widow of American actor John Wayne.
Personal life
Pallete married Wayne in 1954 and they remained married until his death in 1979. She moved out of their house in 1973; however, they were never legally separated or divorced. She has always stated that they were married until his death.
Pallete married Stephen Stewart, a municipal court judge, in 1984, five years since Wayne's death. Pallete later referred to the marriage as a "two-week mistake." Pallete married Jesse Upchurch, a travel agent, in 1998.
