Club career

Medina scored 1-0 over Club Rubio u on 7 July 2012 on his first appearance as a 15-year-old for Libertad.

Medina was signed by the Major League Soccer team New York City FC on December 31, 2017, ahead of their 2018 season. Following the 2021 season and a frustrating four-year spell with the club, New York City decided not to pursue Medina's contract option.

On January 17, 2022, he signed a long-term deal with CSKA Moscow, which is a Russian Premier League club.

International career

Medina was a member of the Paraguay U17 squad for the 2013 South American Under-17 Football Championship, scoring four times as the team finished fifth.

He was also selected to the Paraguay U20 squad for the 2015 and 2017 South American Youth Football Championships (CONMEBOL U-20 Championships). In the 2015 tournament, he scored a goal in a 4–2 victory over Bolivia U20 in the group stage, and in the 2017 tournament, he scored twice in a 3–2 group stage loss to Brazil U20.

He was named in Copa América Centenaryo's provisional squad, but he was ruled out of the final squad. Medina made his Paraphrasedoutput debut against Mexico in a friendly match against Mexico on July 1, 2017 before returning as a substitute in the 85th minute.
