Early life

Jason Aldine Williams was born in Macon, Georgia, on February 28, 1977. When he was three years old, his parents divorced. He was raised by his mother in Macon, and he spent time with his father in Homestead, Florida, during the summer. Before his dad's work, he would map out guitar chords on notebook paper to show his son where to place his fingers to play the chords and Jason would stay and practice all day. He took out his own guitar and the two of them played together as his dad returned home. Since hearing it only a few times, he might play a song soon. George Strait's "The Cowboy Rides Away," Hank Williams Jr.'s "The Blues Man," and Alabama's "My Home Is In Alabama" were among his early favorites.

As Aldean's musical development progressed, both of his parents encouraged him. After watching the country-music awards on television, he wanted to perform on stage from age 14. He appeared at the local VFW hall in Macon with his mother's help. He performed "Seminole Wind" by John Anderson and Tracy Lawrence's "Sticks and Stones." He began competing at local talent competitions and local fairs. He formed the "house band" in Nashville, Georgia, on August 15th.

Aldean changed the spelling of his middle name, Aldine, to come up with the word Aldean in order to stand out.

Personal life

On August 4, 2001, Aldean married Jessica Ann Ussery. The couple have a daughter born in 2003 and another born in 2007. Aldean confessed to having "acted inappropriately in a bar" with former American Idol contestant Brittany Kerr, referring to reports comparing her and Aldean on September 30, 2012. Kerr said in a tweet that she had suffered "a lapse in judgment" and that "I would like to sincerely apologize to anyone that has been affected by this." Aldean filed for divorce on April 26, 2013, citing irreconcilable contradictions and naming the filing date as the formal separation date.

Aldean and Kerr began dating and made their first public appearance as a couple at the 2014 CMT Awards. Aldean and Kerr announced their engagement on September 24, 2014. The couple were married on March 21, 2015. At the end of 2017, their son was born. They were born in early 2019. Brittany Aldean wrote an Instagram post in August 2022 in which she said, "I'd really like to thank my parents for not changing my gender when I went through my tomboy phase"; a longer post in which she voiced opposition to sex changes for minors. These remarks were lauded by other country singers, such as RaeLynn and Whitney Duncan, while Cassadee Pope and Maren Morris condemned them as indicative of transphobia. In reaction, Aldean's public relations company The GreenRoom dropped him as a client on September 1.

Aldean owns Buck Commander, a hunting company formed in collaboration with former Major League Baseball (MLB) players Adam LaRoche, Ryan Langerhans, and Tom Martin; Willie Robertson of Duck Dynasty; and fellow country singer Tyler Farr.

Forbes estimated Aldean's annual income at $43.5 million in 2015. Aldean was the seventh highest-earning country musician, earning about 32.5 million dollars in 2017. Aldean appeared on Forbes' Celebrity 100 list in 2017, ranked at 98. In 2019, Aldean became the sixth artist to receive the ACM Dick Clark Artist of the Decade Award. The award is given to artists who have consistently ranked in the top of the charts over the course of the decade.

Jason Aldean Career

Musical career

Aldean and his band performed at clubs and festivals around the Southeast after high school, with his father's assistance. Aldean began writing and recording original songs with Justin Weaver (one of the band's members). In 1998, he performed songs from his first album on a showcase stage at The Buckboard in Atlanta. Michael Knox, then of the Warner-Chappell song-publishing firm, approached him. Aldean migrated to Nashville on November 1, 1998, at the age of 21, after signing with Warner-Chappell.

Aldean was given a recording deal, but it was later cancelled. He went to another company, but he was dropped in 2000 after his manufacturer postponed his recording sessions repeatedly. Several showcases failed to offer him a contract. The last straw at the Wildhorse Saloon was an attempt at the promise of label talent scouts who never turned up. Aldean's six months of being angry and dissatisfied with his burgeoning work, he decided to leave Nashville and return home to Georgia. Broken Bow Records in Nashville had a contract five weeks ago. Aldean picked up his new (and existing) agent Kevin Neal shortly after the debut of his self-titled debut album. In addition, when recording Relentless, Aldean moved to Clarence Spalding and Spalding Entertainment for management.

"Hicktown," Aldean's debut single, was released in early 2005. It served as the lead-off to his self-titled debut album and debuted at number ten on the US Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, ranking it at number ten. "Why" was his first number one hit on the album. The hit "Amarillo Sky" on the number 4 chart had previously been a non-charting single for McBride & the Ride in 2002. This song received a 2006 ACM Award for Song of the Year and Video of the Year. At the 2006 ACM Awards, Aldean received the accolade "Top New Male Vocalist." The album has sold over 1,000,000 copies in the United States and was rated platinum by the Royal Institute of British Architects in 2007.

Aldean spent the bulk of January 2007 in the studio with producer Michael Knox to finish his second album, Relentless. This album was released on May 29, 2007, and Wal-Mart stores were given a limited edition CMT Pick DVD that featured Aldean's appearances. "Johnny Cash," the album's lead-off single, was originally released by Tracy Byrd, but Aldean's version reached No. 1. 6. "Laughed Until We Cried" was his fifth straight Top ten hits, according to the show's sequel. The RIAA has also rated Relentless as a platinum, and its title track was announced as the third single in the country. The song has also been Aldean's lowest-charting single in the United States and Canada, failing to crack the Top ten on the country charts, with the song also failing to reach the Top ten.

On December 1, 2008, Aldean's seventh single "She's Country" was released. This song appears as the lead-off single from his third album Wide Open, which was released on April 7, 2009. It's his 7th consecutive Top 40 hits on the country charts, as well as his 1st Top 40 hit on the Billboard Hot 100. It became his second top-one hit and first since "Why" in May 2006. Aldean's third number one hit, "Big Green Tractor," became Aldean's third top-one hit. Wide Open debuted at No. 1. On the Top Country Albums chart, two of the best Country Albums have appeared. In January 2010, "The Truth" became the album's third straight number-one hit, with "Crazy Town" becoming the album's fourth single and peaking at No. 3. On the country charts, there are 2 companies.

On an episode of CMT Crossroads in the beginning of May, Aldean appeared with Bryan Adams, and the episode premiered on June 26, 2009. Aldean told Shave Magazine that working with Bryan on Crossroads "was fantastic" and that "[h]e was a lot of fun" and that "working with him was a lot of fun." But it was still the best thing for him to work with Randy Owen. "I am a huge fan of Alabama so I was able to collaborate with Randy Owen on this album (it didn't make the album, but it did make a bonus track). It was really cool. "I mean, both of those guys were amazing, but if I had to choose one highlight, it would be working with Randy [Owen] this year." On August 25, 2009, Wide Open Live & More was released. Aldean received three nominations in Video of the Year and Male Video of the Year for his role on "The Truth" with Bryan Adams, as well as Collaborative Video of the Year and CMT Performance of the Year.

Aldean and his band managed to leave the stage unharmed, but 60 concertgoers died and 867 others were wounded during the shooting. "We witnessed one of the worst tragedies in American history," Aldean said on Saturday Night Live with words of support for those hurt in the aftermath of the shooting. I'm struggling to figure out what happened that night (and why) and how to gather up the pieces and begin to heal. However, we can be certain we're going to get through these difficult times together, every step of the way. Because America is at its best, our family's bond and our spirit are unbreakable," it says. Tom Petty, who had died five days before, did a cover of "I Won't Back Down" by him.
