Jared Keeso Life

Jared Keeso (KEE-soh; born July 1, 1984) is a Canadian actor.

He is best known for writing and starring in Letterkenny, the series's highest-level comedy series since 2009; it received the Canadian Screen Award for Best Comedy Series.

In the 2014 television series 19-2, Keeso is also known for his co-leading role, portraying Ben Chartier.

Early life

Keeso was born in Listowel, Ontario, on July 1, 1984, the son of Anne and Richard Keeso. Keeso Sawmill Company, which was established in 1872, was owned and operated by his family, and Keeso spent many years in the sawmill before embarking on acting. On September 9, 2018, a fire destroyed the sawmill. Keeso played junior hockey, as well as the GOJHL's Listowel Cyclones.

Career

In two CBC television films about Cherry's life, Keeso appeared as hockey coach, player, and commentator Don Cherry. The first, Keep Your Head Up Kid: The Don Cherry Story, appeared in early 2010, and was followed by The Wrath of Grapes: The Don Cherry Story II in 2012. He received a Leo Award for Best Lead Performance by a Male in a Feature Length Drama and a Gemini Award for Best Lead Role in a Leading Role in a Dramatic Program or Mini-Series for his performances.

Play Fun Games Pictures appeared on YouTube in 2013. Thanks to a series of shorts sketches depicting the quintessential Canadian farmer and the attendant challenges, the channel became a hit on the internet. Letterkenny Problems, a film that debuted in January 2022, has attracted over 100 million viewers (as of January 2022), and was the basis for the hit 2016 sitcom Letterkenny. Both the sketches and television series were shot in Sudbury, Ontario.

Following Letterkenny's cult-like success in 2022, Keeso created a spin off series focusing on Shoresy's titular character, which is also set and shot in Sudbury.

Keeso has appeared in a number of television series and films, including as Ben Chartier in the 2014 English-language version of 19-2, for which he received a Canadian Screen Award for Best Achievement by an Actor in a Continuing Leading Dramatic Role. He also appeared in fewer films, such as Nicholas in Smokin' Aces 2: Assassins' Ball; Adam in the high-school-themed Lifetime original film Seven Deadly Sins; and Simon in the drug-themed Charlie.
