James Scott (born 14 January 1979) is a British actor.
On the ABC drama Days of Our Lives, he is best known for his role as Ethan Cambias on ABC' All My Children and EJ DiMera/Santo DiMera.
Early life
Scott was born in Newcastle upon Tyne to an English father and Scottish mother. He has two brothers and a sister, and is the oldest of four children. Scott went to an all-boys boarding school in Lancaster, despite being enrolled in Newcastle.
After school, Scott went to Edinburgh for a journey of self-discovery. Scott spent a significant amount of time in Scotland as a youth as a result of his mother's Scottish roots. In his first summer in Edinburgh, he was able to work at the famous "Gilded Balloon Theatre," one of Edinburgh's best-known venues, and worked with such comedians/comedians as Stephen Fry, Ben Elton, and Eddie Izzard. "They put me in motion, giving me the energy I needed to move forward." Soon enough, Scott remembers that I would need to move to London in order to truly focus on this as a career.
Personal life
During an interview in April 2014, Scott related to a spiritual journey he had in Peru during a visit to the country, from which he had just returned from abroad prior to the interview – and during which he took Ayahuasca with the help of Native Peruvian shamans. During the interview, Scott described the experience as "the single most positive experience of my life" and went on to say that "it sounds wacky when you say it," but it was actually the most important thing I've ever done." "I came back a completely different person."
Career
Scott began working in the music industry and then moved to community theater.
Scott was discovered by the Storm Model Management agency in London, home to Kate Moss, Elle Macpherson, and other well-known models after just a few weeks in London. Modelling enabled him to have enough money to pay for college. He studied at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art for two years (LAMDA).
He began to model for clothing businesses as time went by. During a modeling trip to Los Angeles, he attended an acting class at the Ivana Chubbuck studio in Hollywood. The class inspired him to save money and move to Los Angeles. He studied acting for two more years before being cast on All My Children. Scott played Ethan Cambias in August 2004 and continued to play it until February 2006. He then moved to Days of Our Lives, where he played EJ DiMera in May 2006.
Scott would leave Days of Our Lives on May 2nd, 2014 to pursue other endeavors.
