Jack Grimes Life

Jack Grimes (April 1, 1926 – March 10, 2009) was an American voice and radio actor who appeared Jimmy Olsen in the three years of The Adventures of Superman radio show, the 1966 Filmation TV series The New Adventures of Superman, and is also known for his appearance on the 1967 anime Speed Racer.

Early years

Grimes was born in New York City on April 1, 1926. During the Great Depression, his acting career began at age seven, when he helped his family earn money for his family. He attended grammar school at the Professional Children's School and went on to complete four years at Columbia University.

Career

In the Broadway play The Old Maid, which received a Pulitzer Prize and lasted for ten months in New York, Grimes appeared as Jackie Grimes. It went on tour for another 11 months before going on tour for the second time. Stork Mad (1936), Excursion (1937), and Western Waters (1937-1938) were among his other Broadway credits.

Grimes appeared on radio starting with CBS' Let's Pretend. He appeared on The Fred Allen Showhouse, Second Husband, CBS Radio Mystery Theater, and Death Valley Days. By age 12, he was on 35 to 40 radio shows a week.

Grimes immigrated to California to work for Universal in 1944. Fairytale Murder, Lady on a Train, and Week-End at the Waldorf are among his credits. In the early 1950s, he went back to television. Alcoa Presents, Love of Life, The Aldrich Family, Tom Corbett, Space Cadet, Maude, On the Rocks, and All in the Family.

Grimes and Peter Fernandez worked together on a number of MGM records in 1962. Fernandez has recruited him to do Sparky and Chim Chim on Speed Racer, five years ago.
