Club career

Born in Reus, Tarragona, Catalonia, Cuenca, Cuenca, playing football with RCD Espanyol, FC Barcelona, UE Barri Santes Creus, CF Reus Deportiu, and CF Damm before returning to La Masia in 2009. He made his senior debut in the 2010-2011 season and was loaned to another team in his hometown province, CE Sabadell FC of the third division; he made an immediate impact, starting in 24 of his appearances and totaling 2,288 minutes, as the Arlequinats returned to their second level after an 18-year absence.

Cuenca and Marta Riverola returned to Barcelona in July 2011 and joined the B-team. He was called by first-team manager Pep Guardiola to the pre-season and made his debut against HNK Hajduk Split on July 23.

Cuenca made his official debut for Barça B on September 4, 2011, defeating FC Cartagena 4–0 away and scoring the game's final goal. He made his first official appearance for the main squad on October 19th, emerging as a replacement for David Villa in the dying minutes of a 2–0 home win over FC Viktoria Plze in the season's UEFA Champions League.

Cuenca made his La Liga debut on Sunday, playing the full 90 minutes and being paid in a 1–0 away victory over Granada CF on October 25th, 2011, after another game on the bench. He scored in a 5–0 home win over RCD Mallorca four days later, as a starter, aided by Adriano.

Cuenca scored his second league goal against Levante UD on December 3rd, defeating them 5–0 at home. He signed a contract extension on January 31, 2012, keeping him at the club until June 2015, and then shifted to the first team permanently, where he was assigned jersey number 23.

Cuenca suffered with a knee injury in the first half of 2012–13. He was loaned to AFC Ajax's Ethnic side until June 30th. He was issued the number 11 shirt, which had been worn by Lorenzo Ebecilio previously; the jersey, on the other hand, was reserved for league and Dutch Cup matches, though Ebecilio's number 28 was worn by the club during the campaign, as Ebecilio had already played in the UEFA Europa League, as Ebecilio had already played in continental games wearing the club's number 28.

Cuenca made his debut for his new squad against Roda JC Kerkrade at the Amsterdam Arena on February 10, 2013, assisting Daley Blind in his first goal for Ajax as the game came to a 1–1 draw. However, he sustained another knee injury in March and was hospitalized for another four months; in March, he recovered from training in October.

Cuenca and Barcelona signed an agreement to suspend the player's term, which is likely to come to an end in June 2015 due to technical reasons. He signed a one-year contract with Deportivo de La Corua, a fellow league team.

Cuenca made his team debut on August 23, 2014, beating Toché in a 2–1 away loss to Granada and scoring his first goal eight days later, netting a last-minute equalizer in a 2–2 home draw against Rayo Vallecano. With him appearing in 14 of his appearances, the Galicians managed to barely escape relegation.

Cuenca and Turkish Süper Lig side Bursaspor announced on August 7, 2015, a three-year contract for the Turkish Süper Lig side Bursaspor. He scored his first competitive goal on October 28th, but that was only in a victory over Sivasspor at the Bursa Atatürk Stadium.

Cuenca returned to his country on February 1st. and has committed with Granada until the end of the season. He joined the Andalusians' relegation in June 2017 and joined Hapoel Be'er Sheva F.C., the Israeli Premier League champions. On a two-year contract, I was on a two-year commitment. In his first year in the Middle East, he won the league, but he wasn't a regular participant in the manager Barak Bakhar's plans.

Cuenca was signed to Reus, his first senior team, ahead of the 2018–19 season. He could not be identified after playing the whole pre-season; Reus said that the Liga de Fute Profesional denied his registration due to his low pay, but that the club had violated the wage ceilings.

Cuenca returned to the United States in January 2019 and agreed to a three-year deal in Sagan Tosu in Japan's J1 League, with the possibility of a fourth. Fernando Torres and Llu's Carreras, his compatriot and boss respectively, joined him.

Cuenca also competed against Vegalta Sendai in the following year. He suffered a right knee meniscus injury in February 2020, which barred him from attending six months. In April 2021, he resigned from his job to return home for medical care.

International career

Cuenca's first international call-up came in November 2011, when Spain under-21 manager Luis Milla selected him in a 20-man squad for European qualifiers against Estonia and Switzerland. On the 10th of October, he made his debut against the former on the 10th at the Estadio lvarez Claro in Melilla, winning by 6–0.

Cuenca earned his first cap for the non-FIFA Catalonia team in a goalless draw against Tunisia for the Catalonia International Trophy on December 30th.
