Ida Corr Career

Career

Corr won the first Danish Children's Songcontest at the age of 14 (Brne Melodi Grand Prix "MGP"). [1] She began singing on tours and in the studio for Danish artists such as Gnags, Sanne Salomonsen, Thomas Helmig, and Rasmus Nhr.

Corr became known to the Danish people in 2002 as a member of the short-lived girlgroup Sha Li Mar, which included Christina Undhjem, Engelina, and Corr herself. The company appeared on television shows Venner for Livet (literally "Mates for life") regularly. In the same year, they released a self-titled album. Corr appeared on "I Put My Faith in You," a moderately popular dance hit, in 2004.

Corr first rose to prominence in Denmark in 2005 with the introduction of her debut album Streetdiva and her follow-up album Robosoul. Her fame began to expand outside of her homeland after she performed a special song with Dutch DJ Fedde le Grand as part of the Live Earth series of international music festivals. The song, called "Mirror 07-07-07," was performed at precisely seven minutes past the seventh hour of the seventh day of 2007.

Corr's second collaboration with Fedde le Grand, as well as her most recent self-written single, "Let Me Think About It," soared to wider Europe. It's the best-selling single outside of Denmark from a Danish musician since the Danish bands Aqua and Infernal.

In 2008, Corr released the compilation album One in Scandinavia. The single "Let Me Think About It" continued its success and debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot Dance Airplay chart, despite its position as the nation's most popular single. Despite the fact that the single peaked at number 14 on the German Single Charts in 2008, it stayed for 40 weeks, the longest on the track since 2008. One was released in the United States on August 26, 2008, as the first appearance on the newly formed Ministry of Sound America. A Russian and German release followed quickly.

Corr was also a member of the SugaRush Beat Company, which performed on Later... with Jools Holland in 2008, with a debut album being released in September 2008. Jarrad 'Jaz' Rogers, an Australian-born producer/multi-instrumentalist/songwriter, and US soul singer-songwriter Rahsaan Patterson were among the London-based group's other members.

In January 2009, Corr was named Europe's top-selling Danish artist exporting music at the European Border Breakers Awards in Groningen. In April 2009 Corr released a music video to "Ride My Tempo" in German and a single release. "Time," a new Scandinavian song that debuted on Danish radio, was taken from her fourth album, Under The Sun. "I Want You" was the album's top single. However, a musicvideo for the "Jason Gault Mix" was only shot for the "Jason Gault Mix." "Under The Sun," the title song starring Jamaican singer Shaggy's guest vocals, was released as a single in December.

Corr performed at one of the Climate Change concerts in Copenhagen on December 16, 2009. "Illusion," which was written for the World Wide Fund for Nature Climate campaign, was performed by Samantha Mathew alongside Simon Mathew.

Corr collaborated with Kato, Camille Jones, and Johnson on the Danish-language dance album "Sjus" in January 2011. The album debuted at number one on the Danish Single charts. Corr was captivated by the pleasure of singing in her native language, so she decided to publish another Danish single. "Musen Efter Katten" was her first Danish-language solo album. Corr's worldwide English-language single "What Goes Around Comes Around" also appeared in a accompanying musicvideo.

A new collaboration between British DJ-duo Bimbo Jones and Corr was announced worldwide in spring 2012. "See You Later" was originally an instrumental track on "Questions." "Naughty Girl" was also released in a Danish and English version. Corr will replace Pernille Rosendahl as a judge for the sixth season of the Danish version of X Factor alongside Thomas Blachman and fellow new judge Anne Linnet on August 20, 2012. Fatman Scoop's "Tonight I'm Your DJ" was released as a worldwide single in November 2012, an English version of "Musen Efter Katten." The single was taken off the compilation album Singled Out. Corr did not return for the seventh season for unknown reasons, and Lina Rafn took their place.
