Heinz Winckler Life

Heinz Carl Winckler (born 22 March 1978) is a South African singer and the creator of the first series of South African Idols. Heinz Heinrich Winckler (born 22 March 1978) is also an actor. He went on to study law at Stellenbosch University, eldest of three children in Stellenbosch, South Africa.

He rescheduled his studies to dedicate his time to a music career after winning the Idols competition in June 2002.

Post-Idols career

With over 100000 copies sold in South Africa, Winckler's debut album, Once In A Lifetime, went double platinum. This album, One step closer, included this song as well as Soledad, a recreation of the Westlife song that he performed during Idols, and Next stop happiness, which became a single as well.

He had been nominated for two South African Music Awards, including best single for Once in a Lifetime and best pop album for One Step Closer.

Winckler came fourth fourth in the inaugural World Idol competition in 2003, behind Belgium's Peter Evrard (3rd), the United States' Kelly Clarkson (2nd), and Norway's Kurt Nilsen (Winner).

Come Alive, his second album, was released via BMG and features more ballads and rhythmic songs. It includes the singles Can't Lose With You and Thank You, as well as Don't Want To Miss A Thing. Drowning Me is also included in the list, as a result of his co-writing.

Chasing Shadows, the South African theme song for the Disney movie Treasure Planet's release of Chasing Shadows, performed by him.

Heinz married Alette De Klerk in South Africa on September 25, 2006. They have three sons and a baby girl.
