Hamish Rosser (born 16 May 1974) is an Australian rock musician.
He is best known for his time in The Vines.
Early life
Hamish's musical journey began when he took up the guitar at the age of eight. By the time he was 11 years old, he had switched to drums and bought his first set of drums with money saved up from a paper round in his Sydney neighbourhood. Rosser's first performance was with "The Warthogs," a high school punk band that covered The Clash, The Ramones, and the Sex Pistols.
Rosser studied chemical engineering at Sydney University and stayed there for four years before deciding to pursue a career as a guitarist.
Personal life
Oscar Rosser, Rosser and his wife Kristy's first child, was born in Queensland in June 2012.
Rosser was born in Redfern, New South Wales, in 2011.
Skinny Blonde was launched by Rosser in 2008, as well as winemaker Richie Harkham and artist Jarod Taylor. At the 2008 Australian Beer Festival held at the Rocks in Sydney, the beer received People's Choice awards.
Skinny Blonde sparked national controversy in Australia in June 2009 over its beer bottle packaging, which features a 1950s style pin-up girl named 'Daisy' on the beer bottle label, gradually revealing herself as the beer level decreases and the bottle temperature rises. "Beautify industry condemning women to move product," feminists said of the beer, which was "another blatant example of the alcohol industry's refusal to allow women to move."In response, Rosser stated,
The beer was also described as a "bit of cheeky fun."
Career
Rosser was invited to join The Vines to replace David Oliffe, the band's old drummer. In December 2011, he and guitarist Ryan Griffiths joined the Vines.
Rosser formed Wolfmother, an Australian hard rock band, in 2012, where the band was set to begin recording on their third studio album. Wolfmother wound up for a year after being on tour for the band, but frontman Andrew Stockdale worked on his solo album Keep Moving. Rosser appeared on several tracks for the album, including drums and percussion. Stockdale reformed Wolfmother and arranged a tour under the band's name before embarking on a tour for the album, rather than performing both Wolfmother and his solo tracks.
Rosser left the band in 2013 and then returned in 2017.
