Rumay Wang (born April 18, 1991), also known as Hafu, is an American Twitch streamer and a professional World of Warcraft and Hearthstone player.
Early life
Wang was born in Newton, Massachusetts, to Chinese immigrant parents from Beijing. She grew up in Lexington. Her classmates introduced her to the MMORPG World of Warcraft in high school. She later attended Bentley University but decided against focusing on games instead.
Personal life
On April 13, 2021, Wang married fellow Twitch streamer David "Dogdog" Caero.
Career
Since the player versus player (PvP) arena mode was introduced to the game in 2007, Wang began taking the game World of Warcraft more seriously. She didn't know it was possible to play video games professionally, but her luck attracted the attention of sponsors, who allowed her to attend the Major League Gaming (MLG) in 2008 and several other tournaments over the next two years. Hafu and his teammates, MegaZero and Iverson, won another PvP arena game, Bloodline Champions, later this year.
Wang has been focusing more on her work as a live streamer, although she has taken part in several gaming tournaments, most notably for Hearthstone. Thousands of viewers watch her Twitch streams on a daily basis, and her channel has over 1 million followers. She appeared on Smasher's Legends of Gaming in late 2015. Hafu joined G2 Esports as a Teamfight Tactics streamer on August 15, 2019. In September 2020, Hafu won the second PogChamps chess tournament.
She has spoken out against sexual abuse in games.
Wang began streaming and posting videos of her playing Among Us in September 2020, frequently competing with other popular streamers like Disgustable Toast, dakotaz, and xChocoBars. Parts of the game's increasing success in part, making her the second most watched female streamer in November, only surpassing Valkyrae.
