Turner Ellis Tenney (born January 2, 1998), better known as Tfue on social media, is an American Twitch streamer, YouTuber, professional gamer, and internet celebrity.
Career
Tenney used to streamed games such as Call of Duty, Destiny, and H1Z1, but after it was quickly out of favor, he moved to Fortnite Battle Royale. Tfue joined FaZe Clan, a professional esports group, later.
Tenney was banned from Twitch for a month after reportedly using a racial insult on one of his streams in May 2018. Twitch retaliated after finding that the word wasn't used in a non-racial context.
Tenney received a permanent account ban on his Epic Games accounts because he was hacking in Fortnite, which is prohibited by Epic Games' terms and conditions. Tenney was barred from Twitch for a week, this time for 14 days for unknown reasons.
Tenney filed a complaint against the Faze Clan on May 20, 2019, arguing that they "pressured Tenney to live in one of their Los Angeles homes," compelled him into underage drinking and illegal gambling. "Faze was also regularly pressured and urged him to partake in dangerous stunts." "He only earned 20% from any branded videos that are released on Twitch, YouTube, or social media, and half of his touring and appearances," Tenney explained. Faze Clan replied on Twitter that they did not profit from his tournament victories, Twitch, and YouTube advertisement, or his social media pages. They also said they "took $60,000 from his branded videos" and gave Tenney "an enhanced deal several times, with 100% of the money going to Tenney, but they denied or ignored any of them."
FaZe Clan filed a federal lawsuit in New York on August 1, 2019, arguing that he mistook the company for wrongdoing him by disparaging the company and attempting to establish a rival esports group. Tenney is now accused of directly leaked confidential information about his employment to media publications, in breach of their terms, according to the company.
On September 2, 2019, Tenney appeared to use a racial insult while streaming. Twitch did not take action this time, but Twitch did not take action.
