Gery-Nikol Nikolaeva Georgieva (Bulgarian) – born 30 July 1998), better known mononymously as Gery-Nikol – is a Bulgarian recording artist who came to prominence in late 2014 after competing in the third season of the singing competition X Factor Bulgaria.
Personal life
The Bulgarian State Agency for Children in 2015 lodged a lawsuit against Gery-Nikol's music video for "Momiche Kato Men" for displaying and promoting pornographic material. The Bulgarian Council of Electronic Media refused to accept the lawsuit a few months later due to a lack of legal structures.
Gery-Nikol has often cited Rihanna as her greatest idol and musical influence.
Career
Gery-Nikol was born in Varna, Bulgaria, on July 30, 1998.
She auditioned in Bulgaria's version of The X Factor in 2014 as part of the Sweet 16 girl band, alongside Hristina Hristova and Mishel Straminski. They were mentored by Bulgarian rapper Krisko during the program. After being disqualified in the seventh live show, the participants left the tournament.
Gery-Nikol signed a record deal with Bulgarian-German company Facing The Sun, just a few months after she had left The X Factor. Following the debut of her debut single "Ela I Si Vzemi" ("Come and Get It") starring her former X Factor Bulgaria mentor Krisko, she began her solo career shortly. During the summer of 2015, the song soared to the top of the Bulgarian charts and continued to do well throughout the year. She released her second single "Momiche Kato Men" ("Girl Like Me") in late 2015 ("Girl Like Me"), which was accompanied by a music video. A unprecedented number of viewers watched both videos of the two singles on the VBOX7 and YouTube video platforms.
On April 3, and "Gotina & Luda"), she was the follow-up to "I'm The Queen" and "Gotina & Luda" in 2016, "Cool and Mad"). Both singles were also accompanied by two English versions targeted at an international audience, the second of which was renamed specifically to "One of a Kind" for the new target group.
