Personal life and family

Gaynor Faye was born in Leeds to TV scriptwriter Kay Mellor and Anthony Mellor. Her maternal grandmother was Jewish. Yvonne is her one sister.

Faye lives in Leeds, West Yorkshire, with long-term partner Mark Pickering. The couple have two children.

In Playing the Field, Faye has played Holly Quinn; Lauren Harris in Fat Friends; Georgia Lovett in Between the Sheets and Julie in Stan the Man; She has also written two episodes of Fat Friends.

Faye appeared on ITV's Dancing on Ice in 2006. Daniel Whiston was her skating companion. On March 4, 2006, she was crowned the inaugural Dancing on Ice champion.

Anna Williams Bedford appeared in The Chase, a television series co-written with her mother for BBC One from 2006 to 2007.

She also posted a video based on her exercise regiment during Dancing on Ice.

In 2009, Faye appeared in the stage version of Calendar Girls with Lynda Bellingham at London's No.l Coward Theatre. Juliette Towhidi and Tim Firth wrote this piece.

She appeared on ITV's Loose Women in September 2010.

Faye appeared in Dani's House in 2011.

The daughter of writer Kay Mellor has revealed her mum left a treasure trove of TV scripts when she died two years ago. The Fat Friends writer, pictured right with daughter Gaynor Faye, left more than £13.2million to her family after she died suddenly in May 2022 - just days after her 71st birthday. Ms Faye, who has starred in Emmerdale and Coronation Street, told the BBC a new TV series could be in the works. She added: 'She's got scripts she put in a drawer and said there's always a time and a place for it.'
