Early life
Feimster was born in Charlotte, North Carolina, to Mike and Ginger Feimster, the youngest of three children, with two older brothers, Price and Jay. Fortune is her maternal great-grandmother's maiden name. She grew up in Belmont, North Carolina, and graduated from South Point High School in 1998. She was introduced to society at the Gastonia Debutante Ball the same year. She competed in basketball, softball, and tennis at South Point.
She attended Peace College, then a women-only university, and was elected student body president who was interested in education, majored in networks, and played soccer and tennis. She received a summing of her work as the student speaker at commencement in 2002 and was lauded for her service. Emily Procter, a native of Raleigh, was the graduation speaker, with whom Feimster became acquainted after the university.
After living in Spain for a year, she moved to Los Angeles in 2003 to be Procter's personal assistant and pursue comedy. Feimster began a seven-year career in entertainment journalism after identifying with Procter's neighbor, a Los Angeles newspaper reporter. In 2005, she appeared on The Groundlings Theatre, researching improv and sketch comedy. She was chosen to work with the Groundlings on Sunday Company after four years.
Personal life
Feimster came out as a lesbian in 2005 at the age of 25. She began dating kindergarten teacher Jacquelyn Smith in 2016, before becoming involved in early 2018. She and Smith own homes in Los Angeles and Belmont, North Carolina. On Friday, October 23, 2020, the couple married in a small ceremony.
