Tim Allen Teases the Emotional Scene He Shares With His Daughter in "The Santa Clauses"

www.popsugar.co.uk, November 23, 2022
Tim Allen could not be more excited about his 13-year-old daughter's debut on stage. During a "Tonight Show" interview on Nov. 21, the "Toy Story" actor soared with pride when he talked about how his youngest child, Elizabeth Allen-Dick, portrays his on-screen daughter in the new Disney+ series "The Santa Clauses," according to the star. Allen, the show's lead character and one of the show's executive producers, planned for Elizabeth to appear as an elf, but her performance revealed she deserving of a more prominent position. Allen told host Jimmy Fallon, "She ended up reading the dialogue so well that the kid took the lead in it as Santa's daughter." "It was the most amazing thing" - "It was the most surprising occurrence." Allen admitted that he was initially worried about his daughter's participation in the entertainment industry because she's "great in school" and "very good in sports," but her acting chops were too strong to be ignored. In the forthcoming third episode of "The Santa Clauses," Allen's Scott Calvin (aka Santa Claus) and Elizabeth's Sandra discuss their real-life father-daughter relationship.

It's Been 28 Years Since "The Santa Clause" Came Out — See the Cast Then and Now

Tim Allen first slipped on the Santa suit in "The Santa Clause" and captivated audiences, as Scott Calvin, a former toy-company executive who is compelled to take on Kris Kringle's role after he mistakenly killed the previous one in "The Santa Clause." Allen's character begins as a cocky, distant father who, despite doing his best, can't get Christmas Eve right for his adorable son, Charlie, played by Eric Lloyd. However, as they must work together to save Christmas, the struggling father-son pair's lives will change dramatically. The two children are magically transported to The North Pole and are faced with the difficult challenge of persuading people to believe in the Christmas miracle. This task adds to Scott's ex and Charlie's mother Laura's dismay.
