Edmund Lowe Career

Film career

Lowe's career included more than 100 films. Sergeant Quirt, who appeared in 1926's film What Price Glory, is his best known for his role. (Lowe reprised his appearance in the radio show Captain Flagg and Sergeant Quirt, which was broadcast on the Blue Network on September 28, 1941 - May 3, 1942) NBC (NBC) September 13, 1942 - April 3, 1942) — Lowe recalled his appearance in the film. Despite a smooth transition to talking pictures, by the mid-1930s, he was no longer a major celebrity, although he did occasionally appear as the leading man to Mae West and Claudette Colbert's likes. In Dinner at Eight (1933), he portrayed the young doctor struggling to get out of an affair with Wallace Beery's character's wife, played by Jean Harlow. He remained a supporting actor at the major studios while still acting in leads for Columbia Pictures, where his talents could help with low-budget productions. He appeared in 35 episodes of Front Page Detective in the 1950s and appeared as the elderly lead villain in the first episode of Maverick opposite James Garner in 1957.
