Before Fame

After attending King's College, Cambridge, in the late 1800s and early 1900s, he had a fruitful career as a BBC Radio broadcaster. In 1905, he published Where Angels Fear to Tread, his first book.

Howards End, his critically acclaimed book, was turned into a 1992 Academy Award-winning film starring Emma Thompson and Anthony Hopkins.

Family Life

Edward Morgan Forster, born in London, England, to a Welsh and Irish family, he lived with his mother until her death in 1945. Bob Buckingham, a married police officer, had a long-term affair with him for many years.
