Early and personal life
Seeley grew up in Toronto and fell in love with performing. Nu Ground was once a member of a boy band called Nu Ground. He appeared in Hal Prince's revival of Showboat and stayed with the show for a year. Seeley began working with Ray Cham, a well-known producer, in 2005, and the two wrote "Getcha Head in the Game," a song that was nominated in the Creative Arts Primetime Emmy category, Best Original Music and Lyrics.
Seeley is married to actress/comedian Amy Paffrath. The couple have one child, a daughter who was born in 2019.
Career
Seeley began playing with established producer Ray Cham in 2005 and together they wrote "Get to the Game" for Disney's quadruple platinum High School Musical album. They received an Emmy Award in the Best Original Music and Lyrics category. He auditioned alongside Zac Efron for the role of Troy Bolton in the first High School Musical film, to which Efron received the role, but Seeley acted as the character's singing voice, which was mixed with Efron's voice in post-production. In addition, Seeley filled in for Efron (who could not attend the tour due to a scheduling conflict with the 2007 film version of the Broadway musical Hairspray) on the North American and Latin America tours of High School Musical: The Concert, performed in 60,000 seats and High School Musical on Stage.
Seeley's association with Disney continued, and he can be heard on several Disney soundtracks/compilation albums, including Disneymania 5, Disneymania 6, Disney Channel Holiday, Vol. Byou, 9, and 9 others. On the Disney Channel and on Radio Disney, Drew's duet with Spanish-born Mexican singer Belinda "Dance with Me" from the platinum Cheetah Girls 2 soundtrack was broadcast on both sides. Drew appeared in Belinda's video "Ni Freud tu mamá." Drew performed on "Shake Your Groove Thing" with Alvin and the gang as a guest on the 2008 Chipmunks CD Undeniable. Seeley was supposed to have appeared on the CW's hit teenage drama series 90210 on June 12, 2011, but Entertainment Weekly later reported that he had to cancel due to a schedule conflict. I Kissed a Vampire was released in March 2012, starring Lucas Grabeel and Adrian Slade. He co-starred in "Talhotblond," a Lifetime film starring young "Tommy" in June 2012.
