Dorian Gregory (born January 26, 1971) is an American actor best known for his appearances on the television show Charmed (1998-2005) and as the fourth and final permanent host of Soul Train, who has replaced Shemar Moore.
Personal life
Gregory is actively involved in the youth at risk program, as well as being the National Spokesman for the dorian Gregory Diabetes Research Foundation. He was diagnosed with (Type 1) diabetes as a child and now works with young adults and children as a motivational speaker. Gregory is attempting to raise funds to help find a cure for diabetes and delivering information to those who live with the condition. He is also affiliated with AIDS Los Angeles and Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD).
Gregory and his sister, Mercedes Bey, own "MD Says," which stands for "Mercedes and Dorian Says." In Europe, their band is also on the radio. He is also cutting more songs for a long-awaited album release.
He began his writing career as a poet (and penned "Ashley Moore" and "Deep Deep Purple"). His passion for writing grew into music, and he's now devoted to writing plays and film scripts, as shown by Play Mates for Life.
Career
Darryl Morris, a 1998 police officer, appeared in the television show Charmed, which he continued to watch until the end of season 7, when the role was cut due to budget constraints. He replaced cosmetic surgeon Adams as one of the hosts of The Other Half, a male-oriented daytime talk show that was cancelled the following year.
Several functions have been held, including the BET Anniversary and Achievement Awards with Debbie Allen and Shirley Moore, the Black Stuntwomen Beach Competition, and the Elite Lee Jeans Model Look with Roshumba Williams and Angelica Bridges. He has also hosted a radio show on black writers, promotes minority filmmakers, and appeared at high school dedications to ensure better educational opportunities. He is a founding member of Epiphany Theater Group, which was founded by writer/producer/director Bill Duke. Gregory appeared on "Daywalking" with Jay Leno in 2010. Dorian Gregory was apparently unaware of who Gregory was until Gregory informed him.
