Life and career

In 2010, White played Young Nala in Disney's The Lion King musical at the age of 11. With "It's a Man's Man's World" by James Brown, she auditioned for The X Factor in San Francisco, California. Whitney Houston, from the film The Bodyguard, performed "I Have Nothing" at the Bootcamp Part 1. She was against Dinah Jane and the group performed "Stronger" in Part II. White sang Avril Lavigne's "I'm With You" in the judges' home round. Britney Spears, her mentor, chose her to compete in the live shows. During the first live show on October 31, 2012, White performed "Hey, Soul Sister" "Hey, Soul Sister." During the first live results show on November 1, 2012, White, along with Arin Ray, were put into a sing-off, with one of the contestants remaining in the competition and the other going home. "Sorry Seems to Be the Hardest Word," White performed. Ray was chosen to remain in the tournament, but White was sent home. However, White was brought back to the show as a wildcard on November 7, 2012, resulting in a top-13 finish. She performed "I Have Nothing" on the second live show that aired that night, receiving positive feedback from the judges and advancing into the Top 12 on the second live show that aired that night. She appeared on "Halo" on November 14, 2012, and then advanced to the Top 10 on the charts on November 14, 2012. She appeared on "Because You Loved Me" on November 21, 2012, earning her a spot in the top ten. She appeared on Whitney Houston's "I Wanta Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me) on November 28, 2012) and was pushed into the Bottom Two alongside Vino Alan in "I Was Here" on November 28, 2012. The judges saved White, sending Alan home and advancing her to the Top 6 for the first time. During the December 5, 2012 episode, White performed James Brown's "It's Man's World" and "Diamonds," and was dropped into the Bottom Two for the second time, alongside Fifth Harmony, where White performed "I Hope You Dance." For a second time in the tournament, the judges saved Fifth Harmony and sent White home for a second time.

White had a minor effect on The Big Bang Theory in March 2013. On Toby Gad's ("Peace"), she performed a song for world refugee Day. In July 2013, White appeared in an episode of Nickelodeon's television series The Haunted Hathaways, before becoming a regular character on the show. Ruby, the Disney Junior show Sofia the First, is also a recurring character. In May 2015, White appeared in Walk the Moon's "Shut Up and Dance" and "Want to Want Me" by Jason Derulo with artist Sam Tsui. In 2020, she appeared on the CBS soap opera The Bold and the Beautiful as Paris Buckingham, sister of the established character Zoe Buckingham (Kiara Barnes); she made her debut on November 2, 2020.
