He appeared on BBC's Friday Download from Series 7 to Series 9.

Miles appeared in the web series Chicken Girls for the first time on the Brat YouTube channel.

On his 2018 Night & Day Arena Tour and their 2019 Four Corners Arena Tour, he supported The Vamps.

Cantwell was one of six hosters of the CBBC television show "From Series 7 to Series 9. He appeared in a segment of the CBBC singing show What It Takes on February 26, 2020. For the week's sing-off, the contestants were surprised by surprise as they were hearing his own song "Personal." During a music video competition, he was also a mentor in the same episode.

In September 2020, it was announced that he would be competing in the eighteenth series of Strictly Come Dancing, teaming with Janette Manrara. In Week 4 of the series, they were the first two couples to be rewarded by any judge for their Salsa, and they achieved their first flawless 30/30 for their Street routine in Week 6. (Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Bruno Tonioli was unable to travel to the United Kingdom to vote as a judge, so the maximum score was only 30 rather than the usual 40.) They finished first on the judges' leaderboard on three separate occasions, the most of any couple in the series, and also finished joint-first on the judges' leaderboard in the grand-final, earning 88 points out of 90. With the exception of eventual winners Bill Bailey and Oti Mabuse, the only other couple in the series to never finish in the bottom two any week. On the public vote, the pair eventually finished in second place alongside Jamie Laing and Karen Hauer, Maisie Smith and Gorka Márquez, losing out to Bill Bailey and Oti Mabuse.

With the introduction of his first single, "Thank You," HRVY's music career began on December 20, 2013. During the Salute Tour in May 2014, he served as a support artist for Little Mix alongside M.O., a girlband from the United States. He signed with Virgin EMI in February 2017 and released his debut Holiday EP, which featured the singles "Holiday" and "Phobia." Cantwell released the single "Personal" in November 2017 in addition to the Talk to Ya EP. He was ranked at number six in The Courier and Newcastle Student Radio's The Sounds of 2018 in February 2018, alongside Rex Orange County, Brockhampton, and SG Lewis. He appeared on The Vamps' Night and Day Tour with Jacob Sartorius, New Hope Club, Maggie Lindemann, and Conor Maynard. He released the single "Hasta Luego," starring Cuban-American singer Mal Mal Trevejo, on April 25. He performed "I Wish You Were Here" at BBC Radio 1's Teen Awards in September 2018. At the time, HRVY was also included on BBC Radio 1's Brit List. He and his executive firm, Alphadog Management, were included in CelebMix's Top Success Stories of 2018, along with his management firm, Alphadog Administration, that year.

He collaborated with South Korean company NCT Dream under SM Entertainment in June 2019. On June 6, 2019, the album, "Don't Need Your Love," was released. On November 20, 2020, HRVY was supposed to release his debut studio album, Can Anybody Hear Me?, but it was postponed due to a lack of time.

He released the single "Runaway With It" in 2021, which samples Shanice Knox's 1991 hit "I Love Your Smile." On December 17, it was revealed that he will be joining The Wanted on their 2022 Most Wanted: The Greatest Hits UK tour. Views from the 23rd Floor, his third extended play, was released in 2022 to coincide with his 23rd birthday. "Talking to the Stars" and "Golden Hour" were two tracks that were not available before the EP was released.
