David Brent Nail (born May 18, 1979) is an American country music performer and frontman of the band David Nail & The Well Ravens.

He debuted "Memphis" from an unreleased album for Mercury Records Nashville in 2002.

I'm About to Come Alive, The Sound of a Million Dreams, I'm a Fire, and Fighter plus two extended plays, 1979 and Uncovered, five years later.

The albums have seven chart positions on Hot Country Songs and Country Airplay, with two of them reaching No. 1 on the charts. "Let It Rain" (featuring Sarah Buxton) and "Whatever She Wants"), as well as the top ten hits "Red Light" and "Wherever She's Got" are among the top 10 hits.

Personal life

Nail was born and grew up in Kennett, Missouri, where his father was a high school band director. On June 6, 2009, he married Catherine Werne, his longtime girlfriend, in Franklin, Tennessee. Twins, son Lawson Brent Nail, and daughter Lillian Catherine Nail were welcomed in Nail and Werne on December 12, 2015.

In 2020, they welcomed Ellie Britton, a baby girl.

The 2010 Taco Bell All-Star Legends and Celebrity Softball Game was a home run in Angel Stadium over the right-field fence.

He attended Arkansas State University, where he was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha.

During Game 7 of the Cardinals' 2011 World Series match against the Texas Rangers, he is a huge fan of the MLB's St. Louis Cardinals and performed "God Bless America."

At the Mizzou Tigers 2012 homecoming football game against the University of Kentucky, he performed the National Anthem.

Musical career

David Nail's first recording deal was with Mercury Records Nashville, a Universal Music Group Nashville affiliate. He recorded a self-titled debut album while at University, which was produced by Keith Stegall and John Kelton. "Memphis," the lead-off single, debuted at number 52 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks (now Hot Country Songs) charts, peaking at number 52. Deborah Evans Price gave the song a mainly favorable review, calling it a "good show" but also saying that the storyline was implausible. Advance copies of the album were sent to radio stations, but it was not released commercially. He also performed backing vocals on Meredith Edwards' "But I Can't Let You Go" on his then-labelmate Meredith Edwards' 2001 album Reach.

In April 2007, Nail signed to MCA Records Nashville, which is also a part of Universal Music Group Nashville. Frank Liddell and Mike Wrucke, the same designers who work with Miranda Lambert, recorded I'm About To Come Alive, his debut album for the label. The album features a duet with Lambert, co-writes with Kenny Chesney and Rascal Flatts' lead singer Gary LeVox, and five songs co-written by Nail.

"I'm About to Come Alive" was Train's first single on their 2003 album My Private Country. According to the country chart, the Nail's version reached its high point at number 47. "Red Light," the second single, debuted in May 2009 and debuted at number seven. Chesney co-wrote with Scooter Carusoe on "Turning Home," the album's third single, peaking at number 20.

In February 2011, Nail released his fifth album, "Let It Rain," which featured Sarah Buxton on guest vocals. It was the lead-off single to his second studio album, The Sound of a Million Dreams, which was released on November 15, 2011. "Let It Rain" became Nail's first No. in January 2012. 1st hit. The title track was released as the album's second and last single and reached a peak of 38 on the Hot Country Songs chart.

On July 17, 2012, Nail released a three-track digital EP named 1979. Adele's "Someone like You" is included on the EP.

On May 28, 2013, a new single, "Whatever She Is Got" was released to country radio. It was the lead-off single on his third studio album, I'm a Fire, which was released on March 4, 2014. In February 2014, it debuted at number one on the Country Airplay charts, ranked first. David Cook, an American Idol winner, co-written "Kiss You Tonight," the album's second single.

"Night's On Fire" was David Nail's first single on July 20, 2015. The album reached No. 1 on the charts. In July 2016, he appeared as the lead-off single for his fourth studio album Fighter, and he was featured on Country Airplay.

He released an EP of covers titled 'Uncovered' in May 2016. "In the Ghetto," Phil Collins' 'Can't Feel My Face," Adele's 'In The Air Tonight', and Adele's 'Send My Love (To Your New Lover)'

"Good at Night," the album's second single starring Brothers Osborne, was released to country radio in September 2016. It failed to make it to the top of the country charts, and it was revealed in early 2017 that David Nail had left MCA Nashville after ten years with the company.

In July 2018, Nail revealed a new challenge as the frontman of the band David Nail & The Well Ravens. Only This And Nothing More, the band's first album, was released on September 14, 2018.
