Dany Boon Career

Career

Since being a mime in the streets for a living while appearing on open mic nights at restaurants such as the Treviso Theatre, Boon found himself in Paris in 1989. He took his stage name from an American television show Daniel Boone, which was about an American trapper.

In several one-man shows, he appeared.

Boon is also a guitarist; he has performed a "Piensa en m" ("Think of me"). In addition, he writes his own songs, such as "Le Blues du 'tout poulet" ("The Chicken Blues").

After small roles in films during the 1990s, he landed a role in Ariel Zeitoun's 1998 comedy Bimboland. Boon is deeply attached to his homeland, Nord-Pas-de-Calais. He held a complete show in the local dialect of ch'ti, also known as Picard. Despite the use of dialectical words, 600,000 copies of the DVD (which also included French subtitles) were sold. In France, no other DVD starring a one-man performance has been as popular as it did. He appeared in Pédale Dure, directed by Gabriel Aghion, a critical and commercial flop, in 2004. He had appeared in films since, including in the film Joyeux Nol (Merry Christmas), which was released in 2005 in the United States.

He appeared and directed a film called Welcome to the Sticks (Bienvenue chez les Ch'tis), which was a hit in France and other nations. This comedic comedy, which was based on preconceived notions of the area, went on to smash French box office records. The film had already been seen by five million viewers two weeks after it was announced. Following its fourth week, the figure had risen to 15 million, and by 11 April, the film had surpassed the viewing audience of La Grande Vadrouille, having been watched by more than 17.4 million people. He was Europe's highest-paid actor, grossing 26 million Euros (c. 33 million dollars). In 2015, he became the president of the 40th César Awards ceremony. Boon was on the board of directors of the Pathé film company, and he has appeared in many films as actor, co-producer, screenwriter, or director. In Los Angeles, California, Boon owned 26 DB Productions, including 26 DB Productions. They produce and distribute films and TV shows.

In the 2009 film Micmacs, Jean-Pierre Jeunet was also directed by Boon; Danièle Thompson in 2009 Change of Plans; A Perfect Plan 2012 film directed by Pascal Chaumeil, Julie Delpy's film Lolo (2015) and Yvan Attal's 2016 film The Jews.

Raid Dingue was a big success with the viewers but it was unable to persuade film critics. He was both screenwriter and producer on this film, as well as actor. This year, Boon earned the first César du public in French cinema history: this year, the French film with the year's highest box office is honoured. Boon appeared in his sixth film after Raid Dingue (La Ch'tite Famille) and his family is the family. It was launched in 2018 on the tenth anniversary of Bienvenue chez les Chêtis.

In 2016, Boon appeared in a film about anti-semitism in France, The Jews. Des-hauts-de-France, his Netflix show, premiered on Netflix in 2018. In the French dubbings of Disney films Frozen, Frozen 2, and The Adventures of Olaf, Boon portrays Olaf.
