CupcakKe Career

Career

In August 2012, Harris premiered "Gold Digger" on her official YouTube channel. She was just 15 at the time of its unveiling — the original video had since been deleted. She has continued to produce original music, as well as freestyles utilizing beats from other artists on her YouTube channel, where she has amassed over 812,000 subscribers.

"Vagina"'s official music video was posted on YouTube in October 2015. She wrote the album because she was inspired by Khia's song "My Neck, My Back (Lick It)," according to Cupcakke. Harris' "Deepthroat" was released on her own website a month later. The two videos went viral on YouTube, Worldstar, and Facebook in less than a week. The songs were later released as singles on Harris' debut mixtape, Cum Cake, which was released in February 2016. "Juicy Coochie," "Tit for Tat," and "Pedophile" followed it. The mixtape, according to a writer for Pitchfork, a "well-rounded introduction to a skilled writer" and said it used songs "about love, loss, and hardship with its more specific tracks to create a complete profile of the up-and-coming Chicago rapper." "Pedophile" was also praised for its "blunt commentary" on sexual harassment.

S.T.D. (Shelters to Deltas) is Harris' second mixtape since being born in June 2016. "Best Dick Sucker" was the single that led to the event. "Doggy Style" and "Motherlands," two other songs, "Doggy Style" and "Motherlands," were also released as singles later in life. The mixtape was included in Rolling Stone's "Best Rap Albums of 2016 So Far."

Harris' debut studio album, Audacious, was released in October 2016. The album was preceded by "Picking Cotton," which MTV News called "a resistance song against racial cops." Music videos were also included on the album, including "Spider-Man Dick" and "LGBT." In a interview, Harris said that she made the song "LGBT" "mainly for the gay people to know that they are loved and don't have to feel judged."

Harris' "Cumshot," the lead single on her second studio album's second album, was released in February 2017. Charli XCX, an English singer-songwriter, premiered her song "Lipgloss," which featured Harris on March 7. The song was later included on XCX's mixtape, Number 1 Angel, and was published on March 10.

On March 31, 2017, Queen Elizabitch, her second studio album, was released. "The Fader" described it as "the kind of nefarious rap that made her a viral sensation," as well as other out pop bangers like '33rd' and the confessional a cappella freestyle 'Reality, Pt. "Iron, the fourth generation" is a play. According to Stereogum, CupcakKe is "sees CupcakKe engaging with the present political climate and radio trends in a way that could help her reach a more mainstream audience."

Due to an unlawful backing track that Harris had acquired from what she described as a "shady producer," Queen Elizabitch was banned from online streaming services and digital music stores on April 7, 2017. Queen Elizabitch will be re-released on April 16, according to her, who revealed it on Twitter. In November 2017, she and the singles "Exit" and "Cartoons" were released.

Ephorize, her third studio album, was released on January 5, 2018.

Exclaim!

"She still slides in a slew of disgusting one-liners throughout the new record," the editor said. "Ephorize may be one of the most reflective bodies of work she's ever dropped off to date," HotNewHipHop said. Elizabeth Harris's "best album to date" is Cupcakke's "best album to date," Pitchfork says, with incredible production and a barrage of raps revealing Elizabeth Harris to be much more than her raunchy one-liners. "Duck Duck Goose" and "Fullest" are two of her songs' music videos. "The former queen of the United States" has "showned an extensive range of dildos as well as a souvenir Statue of Liberty."

Harris' fourth studio album, Eden, was released on November 9, 2018. She released music videos for her lead single "Quiz" as well as the following singles "Hot Pockets" and "Blackjack."

Harris was admitted to a hospital in Chicago on January 8, 2019 after tweeting that she was going to commit suicide. Harris wrote, "I've been fighting with depression for the longest time" in a tweet posted the next day. I'm sorry that I did it last night in public, but I'm fine. I went to the hospital and realized that I'm finally getting the help that I need to get through, be positive, and play great music. Thanks for all the prayers, but please don't be concerned about me."

On January 11, 2019, the single "Squidward Nose" was released, and on February 21, a music video for the song starring John Early premiered. Harris released "Old Town Road," a remix of Lil Nas X's "Old Town Road" on her YouTube channel and its music video the next day.

Harris made several posts on social media criticizing several artists, including Camila Cabello (she accused Cabello of bigotry) and Shawn Mendes (she announced her resignation in an Instagram Live video), before she announced her resignation in September 2019. "This live is going to be the last video [will] see of me," she said. "I am completely done with music." She announced that she would no longer be releasing music to the public and that her music would be removed from most streaming platforms. She said she was shocked to see children in videos and young people at her shows singing along with her explicit songs, and that her raunchy songs were corrupting the youth. Harris also told fans that she has a "very bad gambling addiction" and that she had lost $700,000 at a casino in September 2018. After the livestream ended, Harris' Instagram and Twitter pages were deactivated. Her music was still available on streaming platforms.

Harris came out of retirement after a 40-day absence on social media with a tweet on November 7, 2019. "Jesus fasted for 40 days, and so did I; Nov 16th." Harris' latest single, "Lawd Jesus," was released on March 6, 2020. Harris posted her first video on YouTube after her previous removal of all videos on her channel the previous year, including "Grilling Niggas" and "Lawd Jesus," on May 13, 2020.

Cupcakke unveiled the single "Lemon Pepper" on June 1, 2020, with half of the funds going to the Minnesota Bail fund. On June 26, "Discounts," a new single, was released. The album received critical praise, peaked at number 78 on the UK Singles Downloads Chart and number 80 on the UK Singles Sales Chart, becoming the first female single to do so. "Discounts" debuted on the US iTunes charts, making her first song to do so. She is also the first female rapper to have a number-one song without a name on the iTunes charts.

Harris's releasing "How to Rob (Remix), a diss track, attracted significant media attention on December 16, 2020. Harris, Lizzo, and Lil' Kim were among others who were targeted in the video. The album has received rave reviews.

The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), which denotes five hundred thousand units based on sales and track-equivalent on-demand streams, was awarded Gold on March 1, 2021. It's her first song to be recognized by the Royal Institute of British Accordance. Harris will co-host Hot Haus with Tiffany Pollard in June, Rolling Stone magazine announced in June that he would be co-hosting the forthcoming OutTV reality show Hot Haus, marking the rapper's debut in television broadcasting. "I knew I had to be involved" before hearing the casting decision, Harris said.

Her songs went viral on TikTok in 2021, mostly in the form of remixes; she later joined the website due to the website's popularity.
