Mead, the son of Denise and Robert Mead, was born in Mission Viejo, California. Lauren and Candice Mead, his two sisters, have both died.

Career

Mead started acting at the age of 2, playing minor characters. He made his first known appearance in the 1994 film Dragonworld as young Johnny McGowan. In the 1994 feature film version of The Little Rascals, he appeared as Uh-huh. In Stephen King's television adaptation of The Shining, Mead portrayed a psychic child, Danny Torrance, in 1997.

He appeared on Late Night with Conan O'Brien in 1997 and appeared in a Pizza Hut commercial. Jonathan Taylor Thomas and Brad Renfro appeared in Disney's Tom and Huck co-starring Jonathan Taylor Thomas and Brad Renfro. He appeared in Corrina, Corrina, with Whoopi Goldberg, Jack Merchant in Hellraiser IV, and Kirk Cameron's youngest brother in the short-lived WB sitcom Kirk. Mead appeared in The Haunting, a Shirley Jackson film based on Shirley Jackson's book The Haunting of Hill House, Disney's Ariel the Little Mermaid, and 1995's Babe. In addition to Gus Griswold in Disney's Recess and Ned Needlemeyer's Nightmare Ned's Ned Needlemeyer, Mead's characterization in Disney's Lloyd in Space, as well as the titular character in Disney's Lloyd in Space. Starting as Young Phillip and Phillip Chancellor IV, he has also reprised his role in The Young and the Restless as Nina's son. Tommy Farrell appeared in Mean Parents Suck in 2010.
