Dexter Raymond Mills Jr. (born April 17, 1977), better known by his stage name Consequence, is an American rapper from Queens, New York City, New York.

Consequence debuted in 1996 and appeared on A Tribe Called Quest's fourth album Beats, Rhymes, and Life as the cousin of member Q-Tip.

Don't Quit Your Day Job!, his debut album on March 2007, was released by Columbia Records and Kanye West's GOOD Music.

After being signed to the label since 2005, Consequence left GOOD Music in 2011.

Despite Consequence's remarking against the West, he and West were able to reconcile later.

Following Consequence's departure from GOOD Music, Consequence launched Band Camp Records.

Despite Consequence's expressing dissatisfaction with the West, he and West eventually reconciled. Following his release from GOOD Music, Consequencence launched Band Camp Records, his own record label.
