Kanye Omari West (born June 8, 1977) is an American rapper, guitarist, singer, album producer, and fashion designer.

His music has encompassed a diverse range of genres, including hip hop, soul, baroque pop, electro, indie rock, synth-pop, industrial, and gospel. West, who was born in Atlanta and raised in Chicago, first became known as a producer for Roc-A-Fella Records in the early 2000s, releasing singles for recording artists such as Jay-Z, Ludacris, and Alicia Keys.

West, who wanted to pursue a solo career as a musician, released his debut album The College Dropout in 2004 to critical and commercial success, and established the record label GOOD Music.

On subsequent acclaimed studio albums, including Late Registration (2005), Graduation (2007), and the polarizing but popular 808s & Heartbreak (2008), he continued to experiment with a variety of musical styles, including Late Registration (2005), Graduation (2007).

He released My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy in 2010 to rave reviews, and has since followed Yeezus (2013), The Life of Pablo (2016), Ye (2018), and Jesus Is King (2019), as well as full-length collaborations Watch the Throne (2011) and Kids See Ghost (2018), as well as full-length collaborations with Jay-Z and Kid Cudi respectively. West's outspoken beliefs and life outside of music have drew significant media attention.

West is a practicing Christian, and his theological convictions have ignited a lot of curiosity.

He has been a regular source of controversies surrounding his appearances at award shows, on social media, and in other public forums, as well as his remarks on the music and fashion industries, US politics, and race.

Kim Kardashian's marriage to television presenter Kim Kardashian has also attracted a lot of national attention.

He has worked with Nike, Louis Vuitton, and A.P.C. as a fashion designer. Both clothing and footwear are included, and the Yeezy collaboration with Adidas has the most prominent result, beginning in 2013.

He is the founder and chief of DONDA, a multimedia content company.

West is one of the 21st century's most influential musicians and one of the top-selling music artists of all time, with over 100 million records sold worldwide.

He has received a total of 21 Grammy Awards, making him one of the best-known artists of all time.

Three of his albums have been included and ranked on Rolling Stone's "Best Albums of All Time" list for 2012, and he ties with Bob Dylan for leading the annual Pazz & Jop critic poll the most times ever, with four number-one albums each.

In 2005 and 2015, Time magazine named him as one of the world's most influential individuals.

Early life

West was born in Atlanta, Georgia, on June 8, 1977. He and his mother immigrated to Chicago, Illinois, after his parents divorced when he was three years old. Ray West, a former Black Panther, was one of the first black photojournalists at The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, and he was one of the first black photojournalists. Ray later became a Christian counselor and opened the Good Water Store and Café in Lexington Park, Maryland, with startup funds from his son. Donda C. West, née Williams, was a professor of English at Clark Atlanta University and the Chair of the English Department at Chicago State University before retiring to serve as his manager.

Since living in Chicago, West was raised in a middle-class environment, attending the Polaris School for Individual Education in suburban Oak Lawn, Illinois. West and his mother moved to Nanjing, China, where she was teaching Nanjing University as a Fulbright Scholar at Nanjing University. West was the only foreigner in his class, according to his mother, but he quickly absorbed the language and quickly picked up the words, although he has since forgotten the majority of it. When asked about his high school grades, West replied, "I got A's and B's."

At an early age, West demonstrated a love for the arts; he began writing poetry at five years old. When West's passion for drawing and music was first discovered, his mother recalled that she first became aware of him when he was in the third grade. In the third grade, West began rapping and beginning making musical arrangements in the seventh grade, eventually selling them to other artists. West wrote "Green Eggs and Ham" (the title of a best-selling children's book by Dr. Seuss) at age thirteen and begged his mother to pay for time in a recording studio. Accompanying him to the studio and finding that it was "a little basement studio" where a microphone hanged from the ceiling by a wire clothes hanger, West's mother nevertheless helped and encouraged him. West met producer/DJ No.D. No.D., with whom he quickly developed a close friendship. No.D. After receiving his first sampler at age 15, West became West's mentor, and it was from him that the young boy learned how to sample and program beats. 557

After graduating from high school, West was given a grant to attend the American Academy of Art in Chicago in 1997 and began taking painting classes. He took a few months to Chicago State University to study English. He soon discovered that his packed classroom schedule was hindering his musical development, and he dropped out of college to pursue his musical aspirations at 20. His mother, who was also a professor at the university, was greatly dissatisfied with this. "I was drummed into my head that college is the ticket to a happy life," she later stated, "but some career aspirations don't require college." Kanye's album 'Collective Dropout' was more about having the courage to accept who you are rather than following the route society has carved out for you.

Personal life

Kim Kardashian, a long-time friend, began dating reality television in April 2012. West and Kardashian got engaged in October 2013 and married in Florence on May 24, 2014.

Their private event was widely distributed in mainstream media, with which West denied it. They have four children: North West (born June 2013), Saint West (born December 2015), Chicago West (born via surrogate in January 2018), and Psalm West (born via surrogate in May 2019).

In April 2015, West and Kardashian traveled to Jerusalem to have North baptized in the Armenian Apostolic Church at the Cathedral of St. James. On October 7, 2019, the Armenian Church's mother church, Etchmiadzin Cathedral, was baptized. Both the couple's high-profile careers and respective careers have heightened public interest; the New York Times referred to their marriage as "a historic blizzard of celebrity."

West revealed in September 2018 that he would return to Chicago to establish his Yeezy company headquarters there. This did not happen, and West went on to purchase two ranches near Cody, Wyoming, where he recorded his eighth solo studio album, Ye. Kardashian and their children are housebound in a California home owned by the now-divorced couple, while West moves to a house across the street to continue to be near their children. West began selling his Wyoming cattle in the fall of 2021.

West admitted that he had previously considered abortion during Kardashian's first pregnancy but has since adopted anti-abortion views. He made the remark and admitted that Kardashians might have ended their marriage as a result of the incident. Later this month, West revealed on Twitter that he was attempting to divorce Kardashian. He also wrote that the Kardashian family was attempting to "lock [him] up."

CNN announced that the two were discussing divorce in January 2021. Kardashian officially filed for divorce a month later. Both West and Kardashian cited "irreconcilable differences" as the root of divorce and that their four children's joint custody in April. They also agreed that they did not need spousal assistance from each other. On several occasions in 2021, West said he'd rather stick with Kardashian than get divorced. Kardashian was born legally single on March 2, 2022.

West began an on-and-off relationship with designer Alexis Phifer in 2002, and the pair became engaged in August 2006. In 2008, the two couples announced an 18-month romance. Amber Rose was the first dated model from 2008 to the summer of 2010.

Julia Fox, a 1922 actress, revealed that she was dating West in an Interview essay. Despite the friendship, he continued to say he wanted his "family back" and attacked Kardashian's new boyfriend, comedian Pete Davidson, openly. Commentators have characterized Davidson and Kardashian's treatment as "harassment" and an example of abuse, with the 64th Annual Grammy Awards recognizing him as a performer due to his "concerning online behavior" in response. Fox revealed that she and West had broken up less than two months after confirming their relationship, but that they were on good terms. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she later stated that she dated West simply to "give people something to talk about."

Donda West's mother died on November 10, 2007, at the age of 58. The rapper's mother died of coronary artery disease and other related post-operative causes, according to the Los Angeles County coroner's office in January 2008.

Following the O2 Arena in London's death on November 22, West appeared at his first concert following the O2 Arena's death. On all other dates of his Glow in the Dark tour, he dedicated a performance of "Hey Mama" as well as a section of Journey's "Don't Stop Believin'" to his mother.

Arnold Schwarzenegger, the California governor, later signed the "Donda West Law" into force, making it mandatory for patients to obtain medical clearance after elective cosmetic surgery.

In Robert "Evel" Knievel's video for "Touch the Sky," he sued the rapper for copyright violation. Knievel took issue with a "sexually charged video" in which West takes on "Evel Kanyevel" and launches a rocket over a canyon. Knievel's trademarked name and likeness was allegedly violated by the lawsuit. Knievel also said that the "vulgar and offensive" images depicted in the film damaged his image. The lawsuit demanded monetary compensation and an injunction to cease the video from being broadcast. The music video was considered to be satire by West's lawyers, who were therefore not covered under the First Amendment. "I thought he was a wonderful guy and a gentleman" in just days before his death in November 2007.

In 2014, after an altercation with a paparazzo at the Los Angeles Airport, West was sentenced to two years of probation for a misdemeanor battery conviction, and he was required to attend 24 anger management sessions, 500 hours of community service, and payment restitution to the photographer.

A lawsuit was lodged in U.S. District Court in New York on June 29, 2022, alleging copyright violation as a result of the unlawful use of a sample of "Flowers" on the song "Flowers." West sampled Marshall Jefferson's 1986 house track "Move Your Body" without receiving permission or providing compensation, according to the complaint.

The David Casavant Archive, a clothing rental company, sued West for $416,000 in July 2022. According to the complaint, West had failed to make payments on and return 13 rented units.

West was asked about his faith and said, "I will say that I'm spiritual" after the success of his album "Jesus Walks." I have accepted Jesus as my Savior. And I'll admit that I fell short every day. "I'm like a vessel, and God has chosen me to be the voice and the connector," West said in a 2008 interview with The Fader. In a 2009 interview with online magazine Bossip, West said he believed in God but that he did not "going into a faith" at the time. During one of his performances in 2014, West referred to himself as a Christian. West said in October 2019 that "I was going crazy trying to serve multiple gods, god of wealth, the god of glory, and the god of glory" in reference to the "god of ego," the "god of wealth, god of love, the god of glory" and that "I didn't even know what it meant to be saved" and that "I love Jesus Christ." "I adore Christianity." Jimmy Kimmel asked West if he'll now be a Christian music performer because he had pledged himself to Christianity, and he replied, "I'm just a Christian everything."

In September 2019, Kim Kardashian recalled West's Christian born-again experience: "Kanye started this to really heal himself and it was a really personal thing, not just friends and relatives." He has had an amazing growth in his life since being born again and being saved by Christ."

He uses the antidepressant drug Lexapro in his song "FML" and his featured verse on Vic Mensa's "U Mad" and says he has described several common signs of depression and anxiety in his album "I Feel Like This," which has not been released. These songs were all recorded during West's recording sessions for his 2016 album The Life of Pablo.

"Jay-Z—call me bruh," Trump said on November 19, 2016, the narrator abruptly ending a concert prematurely. You still haven't called me... Jay-Z, I know you have killers. Please don't send them at my head. Just call me. "Talk to me like a man." He was admitted to the UCLA Medical Center the next day with hallucinations and paranoia. West was not admitted to the hospital involuntarily, contrary to earlier reports; authorities advised him not to do so.

Though the incident was first described as one of "temporary psychosis" caused by dehydration and sleep deprivation, West's mental condition was still adequate for his 21 cancelled concerts to be covered by insurance. He was reportedly anxious and ill during the hospitalization, but he was undiagnosed. Some have speculated that the robbery of his wife in Paris may have caused the hysteria. West was admitted from the hospital on November 30.

In 2016, West was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, but his illness wasn't announced until his 2018 album Ye. He told President Donald Trump that it was a "misdiagnosis" months after the album was released. He reportedly accepted the diagnosis again by 2022, but he later said that it was not the correct diagnosis.

In a 2018 interview, West admitted that they became addicted to opioids after being prescribed to him after he had liposuction. He may have contributed to his nervous breakdown in 2016. West said he has suicidal thoughts every day.

West requested that his legal name be changed from Kanye Omari West to Ye, but that he cited "personal reasons" for the change. On October 18, the request was accepted. Since 2018, West had mentioned wanting to change his name, and he'd used Ye as a nickname for many years.

In a June 2018 interview, he explained:

Kanye West Career

Musical career

Kanye West began his career in the mid-1990s, making beats primarily for young local artists in his region, eventually creating a style that demanded fast vocal samples from classic soul albums. Grave, a Chicago rapper, has earned eight tracks on Down to Earth, his first official production credits came at the age of nineteen. West played as a ghost producer for Deric "Dot" Angelettie for a time. West was unable to perform a solo album due to his association with D-Dot, so he formed and became a founder and producer of the Go-Getters, a late-1990s Chicago rap group made up of him, GLC, Timmy G, Really Doe, and Arrowstar.

During the Hustle Period, John Monopoly, Don Crowley, and Happy Lewis were in charge of his company. The Go-Getters released their first and only studio album World Record Holders in 1999 after attending a series of promotional photo shoots and making some radio appearances. Rhymefest, Mikkey Halsted, Miss Criss, and Shayla G were among the album's designers, including West, Arrowstar, Boogz, and Brian "All Day" Miller.

West was the first person signed by Gee Roberson and Kyambo "Hip Hop" Joshuato to management-production firm Hip Hop in 1998. West spent a majority of the 1990s on recordings for a number of well-known artists and music companies. West produced Chyna Doll, Foxy Brown's second studio album Chyna Doll. Her second attempt became the first hip-hop album by a female rapper to debut at the top of the United States. Billboard 200 chart in its first week of release.

Jermaine Dupri and the production team Trackmasters co-produced three of Harlem World's first and only album The Movement. His albums featured rappers Nas, Drag-On, and R&B singer Carl Thomas. West produced the ninth song from World Party, the last Goodie Mob album to feature the rap group's four founding members prior to their break-up. West released six songs for Tell 'Em Why U Madd, an album that was released by D-Dot under the alias of The Madd Rapper; West's songs included guest appearances from rappers such as Ma$e, Raekwon, and Eminem.

On Roc-A-Fella, West got his first break in 2000, when he began to produce for artists. With his contributions to Jay-Z's 2001 album The Blueprint, West came to fame and is often blamed for resurgenting Jay-Z's career. The Blueprint is consistently ranked as one of the best hip-hop albums, and the album's critical and financial success sparked a lot of curiosity in West as a producer. West produced music for other artists on the label, including Beanie Sigel, Freeway, and Cam'ron, as an in-house producer for Roc-A-Fella. Ludacris, Alicia Keys, and Janet Jackson were among his hit songs.

Despite his success as a producer, West's original intention was to become a rapper. Even if he had been rapping long before he began producing, it was still a struggle for West to be accepted as a rapper, and he had trouble finding a record contract. Multiple record stores dismissed him because he didn't have the 'gangsta image' popular in mainstream hip hop at the time. 556 West was eventually refused an artist contract after a string of meetings with Capitol.

According to Capitol's A&R, Joe Weinberger, he was approached by West and almost signed a contract with him, but another person in Capitol told Capitol that not to. Damon Dash, then-label chief, reluctantly signed West to Roc-A-Fella, in an attempt to keep West from defecting to another mark. Jay-Z later admitted that Roc-A-Fella was initially reluctant to help West as a musician, claiming that many saw him as a producer first and foremost, and that his history was compared to that of his labelmates.

West's breakthrough came a year later, when he was driving home from a California recording studio after finishing late, causing a head-on collision with another car. The crash left him with a broken jaw that had to be wired shut in reconstructive surgery. Both legs of the other driver were broken during the crash. West was inspired by the crash; two weeks after being admitted to the hospital, he recorded a song at the Record Plant Studios with his jaw still wired shut.

According to West, "Through the Wire" recapped West's return to the crash and laid the groundwork for his debut album. "All the best artists have expressed what they were going through." When working on the record distracted him from the pain, West said, "the album was my medicine." On West's "Get Well Soon" mixtape, "Through the Wire" was the first item on the site. West also revealed that he was working on an album titled The College Dropout, whose overall theme was to "make your own decisions." "This is what you have to do," society will tell you.

When recovering from the car accident, West completed the remainder of the album in Los Angeles. It was leaked months before the album's release date. However, West decided to use the occasion to review the album, and The College Dropout was heavily remastered, remastered, and rewritten before being published. As a result, certain tracks that were originally intended for the album were subsequently cancelled, including "Keep the Receipt" with Ol' Dirty Bastard, "The Good, the Bad, and the Ungly" with Consequence. West meticulously crafted the set, adding string arrangements, gospel choirs, improved drum programming, and new verses. The College Dropout's release was postponed three times from its initial date in August 2003 due to West's perfectionism.

The College Dropout was eventually released by Roc-A-Fella in February 2004, putting his debut single, "Through the Wire," to number two on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for five weeks. Twista and Jamie Foxx's second single "Slow Jamz" became even bigger success, becoming the three musicians' first number one hit. Contemporary music journalists lauded the College Dropout as the year's best album of the year, and it has consistently been named among the best hip-hop albums and debut albums by artists.

"Jesus Walks," the album's fourth single, may have introduced West to a wider audience; the song's subject matter concerns faith and Christianity. Despite company executives' hopes that a song with such blatant declarations of faith would never make it to the radio, the song remained in the top 20 of the Billboard pop charts. The College Dropout will eventually be listed as triple platinum in the United States, and it has received West 10 Grammy awards, including Album of the Year and Best Rap Album (which it received).

West also performed "Whole City Behind Us" alongside Ludacris and the Game in an ad campaign for Boost Mobile and founded GOOD Music, a record label and management company that would continue to house affiliate artists and producers, such as No.D. and John Legend. At the time, the main feature of West's production style was the use of sped-up vocal samples from soul recordings. However, such sampling had been heavily copied by others, and also because West became too dependent on the technology, he decided to search for a new sound. During this period, he made singles for Brandy, Common, John Legend, and Slum Village.

West's second attempt, this fall, will cost him two million dollars and take over a year to produce his second album. West was greatly inspired by Roseland NYC Live, a 1998 live album by English trip hop band Portishead, which was released with the New York Philharmonic Orchestra. The live album had influenced him to incorporate string arrangements into his hip-hop set-up early in his career. Despite the fact that West could not afford many live instruments at the time of his debut album, the money earned him enough to hire a string orchestra for his second album Late Registration.

West worked with American film score composer Jon Brion, who served as the album's co-executive producer on several tracks. Despite the fact that Brion had no prior experience in making hip-hop albums, he and West found that they could collaborate effectively after their first afternoon in the studio, where they discovered that neither restricted his musical knowledge and vision to a single genre. Late Registration's first major album debut of the fall season, which had been plagued by steadily declining CD sales, sold over 2.3 million units in the United States alone by 2005, according to industry analysts as the only profitable major album debut of the season.

Although West had been plagued a year before being voted out of the American Music Awards of 2004 after losing the Best New Artist award to Gretchen Wilson, his first big-scale controversy came just days after his debut at a benefit concert for Hurricane Katrina victims. West was a featured speaker at NBC's A Concert for Hurricane Relief in September 2005, and he was a featured speaker. When West was presenting alongside actor Mike Myers, he deviated from the script. Myers spoke next and continued to read the script. "George Bush doesn't care about black people," he said when it was West's turn to speak again. West's remarks influenced many parts of the United States, sparking mixed reactions; President Bush would later call it one of his presidency's most "disgusting moments" during its presidency. In January, West posed on the front page of Rolling Stone sporting a crown of thorns.

West was inspired to produce anthemic rap songs that could be used in large arenas after spending the previous year touring the world with U2 on their Vertigo Tour. West carried the synthesizer into his hip-hop album, used slower beats, and experimented with experimental music influenced by 1980s music. West took inspiration from arena rock bands such as The Rolling Stones and Led Zeppelin in terms of melody and chord progression, in addition to U2's. West listened to folk and country singer-songwriters Bob Dylan and Johnny Cash to help with his next venture, the third in a planned tetralogy of education-themed studio albums, more introspective and personal in lyricism.

When its launch date was pitted West against rapper 50 Cent's Curtis, West's third studio album, Graduation, received major buzz. Graduation beat Curtis by a large margin on September 7, debuting at number one in the United States on the UK. In its first week, Billboard 200 chart and 957,000 copies were sold. Graduation continued his string of academic and commercial triumphs by West, and the album's lead single, "Stronger," earned his third number-one hit.

The French house duo Daft Punk's "Stronger," which samples French house and electronica musicians, has been given permission to not only help other hip-hop artists incorporate house and electronica elements into their music, but also for being involved in the revival of disco and electro-infused music in the late 1990s. "The results of the 50 Cents Graduation competition showed hip-hop's direction and paved the way for new rappers who didn't follow the hardcore-gangster model, according to Ben Detrick of XXL, "If ever a watershed moment to point hip-hop's evolution" was determining whether hip-hop's direction was changed" and opening the way for new rappers who didn't conform to the hardcore-gangster model, it might have appeared."

Donda West, his mother, died of complications from cosmetic surgery involving abdominoplasty and breast reduction in November 2007. West and fiancée Alexis Phifer announced their engagement and their long-term friendship, which had begun in 2002. The incidents impacted West, who began his 2008 Glow in the Dark Tour shortly afterwards. West reportedly decided to sing using the voice recognition device Auto-Tune, which would be a vital piece of his upcoming project, owing to his emotions, which could not be conveyed through rapping. On his debut album "The College Dropout" and "Never Let Me Down" he had previously experimented with the technology on his debut album The College Dropout's background vocals. At the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards, West performed mainly in Honolulu, Hawaii, where he performed his fourth album, 808s & Heartbreak, where he performed his lead single, "Love Lockdown." The uncharacteristic production style and the presence of Auto-Tune, which typified the pre-release reaction to the record, took music audiences aback.

81s & Heartbreak, a family-owned Roland TR-808 drum machine with extensive use of the eponymous Roland TR-808 drum machine and has sentiments of passion, loneliness, and sadness, was published by Island Def Jam in November 2008. The comments were encouraging, but they were marginally more mixed than his previous attempts. Despite this, the record's singles had strong chart success. Following its debut on the Billboard Hot 100 and becoming a "Hot Shot Debut," the lead single "Love Lockdown" debuted at number three on the Billboard Hot 100 and became a "Hot Shot Debut" for his second straight "Hot Shot Debut," while sequel "Heartless" debuted at number four on the Billboard Hot 100 for his second straight "Hot Shot Debut" and debuted at number three on the Billboard Hot 100. Although the 808s were criticized prior to its appearance, it had a major influence on hip-hop music, causing other rappers to take greater risks with their careers.

The fiery surrounding the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards had sparked widespread outrage throughout the music industry. West crashed the stage and grabbed the microphone from Taylor Swift during her acceptance address for "Best Female Video" in order to announce that Beyoncé's "Single Ladies" (Put a Ring on It)", one of the best videos of all time, was "one of the best videos of all time." He was subsequently barred from the remainder of the program for his conduct. In reaction to the uproar, Lady Gaga's Fame Kills tour was postponed. West was dubbed the top male artist of 2009 by Billboard in 2009.

Following the widely circulated incident, West took a brief break from music and threw himself into style, only to hole up in Hawaii for the next few months to write and recording his next album. West kept engineers behind the boards 24 hours a day, rather than in increments, importing his favorite producers and musicians to record and inspire his music. During the sessions, Noah Callahan-Bever, a writer for Complex, was present and described the "communal" atmosphere as follows: "With the right songs and the right album, he will tackle any and all controversy, and we are here to contribute, inspire, and inspire." A number of artists contributed to the project, including close friends Jay-Z, Kid Cudi, and Pusha T, as well as off-the-wall collaborations, such as with Bon Iver's Justin Vernon.

West's fifth studio album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, received widespread praise in November 2010, many of whom said it was his best work and that it boosted his comeback. Dark Fantasy, in stark contrast to his previous effort, which featured a minimalist sound, adopts a maximalist philosophy and explores celebrity and excess. The album featured the international hit "All of the Lights," as well as Billboard's hits "Power," "Monster," and "Runaway," the latter of which accompanied a 35-minute film directed by and starring West. During this period, West introduced FREE music software GOOD Fridays on his website, a free download of previously unreleased songs available every Friday, a portion of which were not on the album. From August 20 to December 17, 2010, this promotion was available. Dark Fantasy went on to win platinum in the United States, but several media outlets dismissed it as a candidate for Album of the Year at the 54th Grammy Awards as a "snub."

West began a festival tour in 2011 to celebrate the unveiling of My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, Oya Festival, Live Music Festival, The Big Chill, Essence Music Festival, Lollapalooza, and Coachella, which was described by The Hollywood Reporter as "one of the finest hip-hop sets of all time." Watch the Throne become one of the few major label albums in the Internet age to prevent a leak by employing a digital media platform weeks before its physical counterpart.

The Billboard Hot 100's "Niggas in Paris" became the highest-charting single on record, peaking at number five. Watch the co-headlining Begin in October 2011 and end in June 2012. West's compilation album Cruel Summer, a collection of tracks by artists from West's record label GOOD Music, was released in 2012. Cruel Summer performed four singles, two of which charted in the top 20 of the Hot 100: "Mercy" and "Clique." In addition, West produced a film of the same name that premiered at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival in a custom pyramid-shaped screening pavilion with seven screens.

In early 2013, West's sixth solo venture took shape in his own living room in his own hotel's basement. Determined to "undermine the profit," he brought together close collaborators and attempted to weave Chicago drill, dancehall, acid house, and industrial music. West's perfectionist tendencies led him to contact producer Rick Rubin fifteen days before the record's due date to be canceled in favour of a more minimalist approach. The album's first release on his sixth album featured worldwide video projections of the album's music and live television performances. Yeezus, West's sixth album, received rave reviews from critics. It was his sixth consecutive number one debut, but it also represented his lowest solo opening week sales. In July 2013, Def Jam's lead single "Black Skinhead" was announced on radio.

Kanye West announced in September 2013 that he would be headinglining Yeezus' first solo tour in five years, with fellow American rapper Kendrick Lamar accompanying him as a support act. Critics praised the tour. Rolling Stone described it as "crazily entertaining, highly affluent, emotionally affecting (really!) And, of course, total bonkers." Zack O'Malley Greenburg wrote for Forbes and praised West for "taking risks that few pop stars, if any, are able to participate in today's hyper-exposed world of pop," saying the performance "overwrought and uncomfortable at times," but "it] excels at criticizing standards and inciting reflection in a way that isn't usual for mainstream musical performances of late."

Kim Kardashian, a West and television presenter, announced the birth of their first child, North, in June 2013 and their October engagement attracted brisk media interest. West said in November that he was planning on his next studio album, with the aim of releasing it by mid-2014, with production by Rick Rubin and Q-Tip. Adidas revealed in December 2013 that they would launch their official clothing partnership with West, which would be released the following year. West and Kardashian were married in May 2014 in Florence, Italy, by a number of artists and celebrities. In December, West released "Only One," starring Paul McCartney.

In January 2015, "FourFiveSeconds," a single co-produced with Rihanna and McCartney, was released. On the Saturday Night Live 40th Anniversary Special, West performed "Wolves," which featured Sia and Vic Mensa, a Chicago rapper. West unveiled his clothing collaboration with Adidas, Yeezy Season 1, in February 2015, received generally positive feedback. This will include West's Yeezy Boost sneakers.

In March 2015, West released the single "All Day" starring Theophilus London, Thean Kingdom, and Paul McCartney. West performed the song at the 2015 BRIT Awards with a number of US rappers and UK grime MC's, including Skepta, Wiley, Novelist, Fekky, Krept & Konan, Stormzy, Allan Kingdom, Theophilus London, and Vic Mensa. In September 2015, he would debut Yeezy Season 2, the second iteration of his clothing collection, at New York Fashion Week.

In March 2015 West revealed that instead of a new album titled Yeezus II, it would be tentatively called So Help Me God. West was named an honorary DFA by the School of the Art Institute of Chicago on May 11 for his contributions to music, fashion, and popular culture, effectively making him an honorary DFA. Despite a petition signed by almost 135,000 people against his presence, West headlined at the Glastonbury Festival in the United Kingdom next month. West said himself "the world's best living rock star." Towards the end of a set that included parts of Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" West performed, the actor said.

His results were divided among media outlets, including social media pages such as Twitter. "The decision to book West for the slot has been contentious since its unveiling, and the game itself appears to polarize both Glastonbury goers and those who tuned in to watch on televisions." "He's letting his music speak for and prove itself," the magazine said. "His set has a potent ferocity," the Guardian says, but there are gaps and stutters, and he cuts a strangely lone figure in front of the massive crowd. West performed 808s & Heartbreak in its entirety two nights in a row, according to rave reviews at Hollywood Bowl in September 2015. A 60-person orchestra, a live band, musicians from the album, and over 70 dancers were on hand for the show. West released "Acts" in December 2015, the first song in the series.

SWISH will be released on February 11, and later that month, with Kendrick Lamar snippets, and a preview of "No More Parties in LA." This also renewed the GOOD Fridays project, in which he releases new singles every Friday. West renamed the album from SWISH to Waves on January 26, 2016, along with the premier of his Yeezy Season 3 clothing collection at Madison Square Garden. West became embroiled in a slew of Twitter controversy and revealed several iterations of the tracklist for the new album in the weeks leading up to its release.

Several days before its unveiling, West changed the name to The Life of Pablo, this time to The Life of Pablo. As part of the launch of his Yeezy Season 3 clothing collection, West premiered the album at Madison Square Garden on February 11, 2012. Following the preview, West announced that he would be changing the tracklist once more before releasing it to the public and then postponed its unveiling to finalize the track "Waves" on Chance the Rapper's behest. Following a success on SNL, he released the album exclusively on Tidal on February 14, 2016.

Following its official streaming launch, West continued to tinker with mixes of many songs, describing the project as a "life breathing expression" and a common release style. Despite West's statement that the album would be exclusive to Tidal, the album was available through several other competing services beginning in April.

West revealed on Twitter in February 2016 that he was planning to launch another album in the summer of 2016, initially referred to the 1990s video game console of the same name. "Champions" was released by West on the GOOD Music album Cruel Winter in June 2016, which has yet to be released. West released a controversial video for "Famous" later this month, depicting wax figures of several celebrities (including West, Kardashian, Taylor Swift, businessman, and former President George W. Bush) sleeping nude in a shared bed.

West embarked on the Saint Pablo Tour in August 2016 in support of The Life of Pablo. A mobile stage was suspended from the ceiling during the performances. Following the robbery of several of his wife's relatives, West postponed several dates in October. Following a week of no-shows, curtailed concerts, and political rants, West cancelled the remaining 21 dates on the Saint Pablo Tour on November 21, 2016. He was later admitted to UCLA Medical Center for psychiatric examination. Due to a temporary psychosis resulting from sleep deprivation and severe dehydration, he stayed hospitalized over the Thanksgiving weekend. Following this episode, West took an 11-month break from Twitter and the general public in general.

West was announced in May 2017 that he was recording new music in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, with a large number of collaborators. In April 2018, West revealed plans to write a philosophy book called "In real time" on Twitter and began posting articles that was referred to as "life coaching" by posting content on Twitter. Later this month, he announced two new albums, a solo album, and a self-titled collaboration with Kid Cudi under the name Kids See Ghosts, both of which will be released in June. In addition, Nas announced that he would produce forthcoming albums by GOOD Music label-mates Pusha T and Teyana Taylor, as well as Nas. West released "Lift Yourself," a "strange, gibberish track" with nonsensical lyrics, and "Ye vs. the People" shortly thereafter, in which he and T.I.I. We discussed Donald Trump's tumultuous support in the West.

Pusha T's Daytona, "the first project out of Wyoming," was released in May to critical acclaim, but the album's artwork, a photograph of deceased singer Whitney Houston's bathroom that West paid $85,000 to license, attracted some backlash. Ye is West's eighth studio album and follows a schedule. West has claimed that he deleted the album's original recordings and re-recorded it in a month. Kids See Ghosts, West's joint album with Kid Cudi, was released the week after the group of the same name. West also completed production on Nas' Nasir and Teyana Taylor's K.T.E., which were first announced in June 2018.

West also released "XTCY," a non-album single that was originally supposed to be included on Ye on August 30, 2018. "I Love It" was West's first collaboration with American rapper Lil Pump on September 7, 2018. West revealed on Twitter on September 9, 2018 that Throne 2 will be coming soon. West also revealed his ninth studio album Yandhi, which will be released by the end of the month, and Chance the Rapper's Good Ass Job, which is a collaboration project. In September, West also revealed that he would change his stage name to "Ye." Yandhi had been planned to be released on September 29, 2018, but it was postponed to November 23, 2018. With no new release date planned, West later postponed the album again in November 2018.

West began performing with other musicians in 2018; he appeared on the tracks "Kanga" and "Mama" with Nicki Minaj on American rapper 6ix9ine's debut album Dummy Boy, as a guest performer on American rapper 6ix9ine's debut album Dummy Boy. West is also the sole focus on XXXTentacion's first posthumous album Skins. Both 6ix9ine and XXTentacion were due to be included on Yandhi. After talks fell off due to inconsistency regarding stage layout, West decided against headlining the years Coachella festival in January 2019.

On July 18, 2019, it was revealed that songs from West's yet-total album Yandhi had been leaked online. The complete leaked unfinished album was released on streaming platforms like Spotify and Tidal by October of the same year, but it was soon taken down. Kim Kardashian revealed on August 29, 2019 that West's new album would be named Jesus Is King, effectively scrapping Yandhi.

On January 6, 2019, West began his weekly "Sunday Service" orchestration, which includes soul variations of both West's and others' songs performed by numerous celebrities, including the Kardashians, Charlie Wilson, and Kid Cudi. At his "Sunday Service" orchestration appearance at weekend 2 of Coachella, West performed "Water" in a preview.

Jesus Is King, a Christian hip hop album, was released on October 25, 2019. The album debuted on top charts, Top R&B/Hip-Hip Albums, Top Rap Albums, Top Christian Albums, and Top Gospel Albums at the same time, making it the first to ever debut the Billboard 200, Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, Top Rap Albums, Top Christian Albums, and Top Gospel Albums at the same time. He also worked with Vanessa Beecroft on two operas, Nebuchadnezzar and Mary. Jesus Is Born, West and Sunday Service's 19 songs, as well as several re-workings of older West songs, was released on December 25, 2019.

"JESUS IS KING II" is West's first official announcement on Twitter on November 18, 2019. The project has yet to be announced. Only the remixes of "Follow God," "God Is," "Every Hour/Selah," as well as the unreleased tracks "Ashes" and "LA Monster" have appeared on the internet as of July 2022. In addition, West has announced a remix of "Use This Gospel," which includes a verse from fellow rapper Eminem.

West's single, "Wash Us in the Blood," starring fellow American rapper and singer Travis Scott, was due to be his lead single from his tenth studio album Donda and shares similarities to his 2013 album Yeezus. In a Twitter rant about recording company deals, payments to artists and musicians, and the issue of masters ownership, West said in September 2020 that he would not be releasing any more music until he is "done with [his] deal with Sony and Universal."

He released the single "Nah Nah Nah Nah Nah" on October 16, 2010. DaBaby and 2 Chainz, American rappers, were included in a remix on Twitter on October 29, which was broadcast on October 29. The remix was announced on November 13. The West's Sunday Service released a new EP titled Emmanuel on December 25, 2020, exactly one year after the introduction of Jesus is Born. The mini album, which was produced by West in large part, features 5 songs entirely in Latin based on Gregorian chant. Whole Lotta Red, Playboi Carti's, was released on the same date, with West as the album's executive producer and appearing on the song "Go2DaMoon."

Consequence released a video of West in the studio with Tyler, the Creator of the blog on July 17. The post's caption suggested a late 2021 album debut.

Pusha T, an American rapper, revealed on Instagram on July 19, 2021, that West will hold a listening party for the album at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. The following day Beats Electronics premiered a commercial during game six of the 2021 NBA Finals, starring Sha'Carri Richardson, edited and scored by West using the track "No Child Left Behind." Gesaffelstein, a French engineer, later admitted that he wrote the album, which featured Cory Henry on the organ. Def Jam Recordings announced that the listening session in Atlanta would be nationally streamed on Apple Music immediately after the commercial's debut. The album was also unveiled on that date.

West had taken up temporary residence in one of the stadium's locker rooms on July 22, converting it into a recording studio to finish the recording and mixing with Mike Dean. Playboi Carti and 2 Chainz' recording vocals in the locker room were seen on social media a day before the listening party. On August 5, 2021, West announced that the album would be released on the same day as a second listening party at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium. This did not happen, however.

He announced a third listening party at the Soldier Field Stadium in Chicago on August 18, 2021. Donda was finally released on August 29, 2021, after multiple delays. West said that the album was released early without his permission. He also charged that Universal had taken "Jail, Pt." DaBaby and Marilyn Manson, a singer with recent controversy, performs 2", a song with features from artists like DaBaby and Marilyn Manson. The song was soon added to online music services soon after its debut.

West appeared on Revolt TV's "Drink Champs" podcast on November 4, 2021, and announced that a deluxe version of Donda would be released shortly. On November 14, 2021, a limited edition of artists André 3000, Kid Cudi, and KayCyy were added to streaming services. West and rapper Drake announced that they would host the "Free Larry Hoover" benefit concert at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum on November 20, 2021, days after a long feud began.

West was announced on January 5, 2022, as one of the 2022 headliners of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. West revealed the full photo for his forthcoming single "Eazy" with rapper The Game on Instagram later this month. The image depicts the skinned monkey's body, which was widely criticized by the animal rights group PETA, although it was taken by English photographer and occasional West collaborator Nick Knight in 1997. On January 15, the album was released.

On January 27, 2022, West announced the debut of Donda 2, the sequel to Donda, on February 22, and that it would be executive produced by American rapper Future.

On February 22, 2022, West announced an event for the sequel to Donda, Donda 2, at the LoanDepot Park in Miami, Florida. Kid Cudi will not be on the album due to his friendship with "you know who" and the fact that "we all speak in Billie terms now," referring to Billie Eilish's apparent jab against Travis Scott.

At LoanDepot Park on February 22, 2022, West presented the Donda Experience. This performance featured tracks from Donda 2, Donda, and the Sunday Service Choir, as well as special guest performances from The Game, Migos, Pusha T, Jack Harlow, Fivio Foreign, and Playboi Carti.

Kanye revealed in a press release on May 23 that he would debut a finalized Donda 2 on streaming platforms.

West and The Game performed "Eazy" at one of The Game's L.A. shows to promote his latest album Drillmatic – Heart vs. Mind you, it's a mind. It was West's first show in five months after the low profile he had been keeping since Donda 2 was unfinished on the stem player after only a few musical announcements and the numerous scandals surrounding his divorce from Kardashian.

West will no longer be headlining the event's opening night on July 17, 2022, according to the festival's chief, Rolling Loud Miami Festival hosts. "Use This Gospel," a DJ Khaled, Eminem, and West's joint venture, went on to be on Khaled's thirth studio album, God Did, in August 2022. The song was co-produced by Dr. Dre's band The ICU, whom he named after his brain aneurysm diagnosis. Among others, the team includes Dawaun Parker, Dem Jointz, Erik "Blu2th" Griggs, Focus..., Fredwreck and Mark Batson. The remix debuted on both the US Christian Songs and Gospel Songs charts, earning Khaled and Eminem their first #1 on the charts and West his fifth.

www.dailymail.co.uk, April 25, 2024
The man who once penned entire albums to the Almighty, who straddled genius and tragedy producing thoughtful art, is now so fallen into the chasm of depravity that there seems no way back. This vagrant venture into the world of adult entertainment is already underway, reportedly a joint effort with the former Mr. Stormy Daniels, a jiggle-flick producer named Mike Moz. It's all dirty double standards because West has vacillated in the past on the sins of online smut: once blaming the collapse of his marriage and family on a supposed addiction to the filth. But it'll take more than a little horny hypocrisy to stun his few remaining and entirely unshockable fans into apoplexy.
