Clinton Engle Howard (born April 20, 1959) is an American actor.

He is Ron Howard's younger brother.

He is best known for his appearances in the films The Waterboy and Apollo 13, as well as his stint as a Gentle Ben series regular as a child.

He also appeared on "Men from Shilo" in a series.

He has appeared in many films directed by his brother Ron, as well as several low-budget cult films.

Early life

Howard's parents, who were born in Burbank, California, are actors Rance Howard and Jean Speegle, and his older brother, actor Ron Howard, is director Ron Howard.

Personal life

Howard has been married three times. Ann Marie Lynch, his long-term girlfriend, married him in 1988.

Melanie Sorich's second marriage was for 22 years, from 1995 to 2017. There were no children at the time.

Howard married Kat C. Howard in a private wedding reception at The Little Church of the West in Las Vegas, Nevada, on July 1, 2020. He is the stepfather of her daughter's.

Howard is a Republican (in comparison to his brother, Ron, who is a Democrat). Senator Ted Cruz of Texas, who died three days before the Iowa Caucuses, was nominated for Republican presidential nomination by on January 29, 2016.

Howard was an avid golfer who played 150 rounds a year before hip replacements forced him to abandon.

Career

Howard began his career as a young boy, first appearing in five episodes of The Andy Griffith Show and then starring his older brother Ron. Leon was a kid in a cowboy outfit who walked around Mayberry and casually offered a piece of his sandwich to which they'd say, "No thanks, Leon." Also notable roles include his appearance on "The House on Hyde Street" and The Virginian as Tommy, the proud owner of a new litter of puppies in the episode "Melanie."

In 1963, he appeared in the ABC medical drama Breaking Point in the role of four-year old Mikey in the episode "The Gnu, Now Extinct." In the season one of "Home is the Hunted," he also played little Billy Taft, the nephew of Dr. Richard Kimble.

Gentle Ben (1967–69), his first notable role was as a regular on the series Gentle Ben (1967–69). In addition, he appeared in "The Boy Who Predicted Earthquakes," Rod Serling's Night Gallery's episode segment, as Herbie, a ten-year-old boy who predicts the future, and Billy in John Steinbeck's made for television version of The Red Pony, with Henry Fonda and Maubee.

In the season one episode "Key Decisions," Howard Bark on Arrested Development, which was produced and narrated by his brother, Ron, in 2003. He was seen as a creepy janitor in an episode of Married... with Children. In the season four Seinfeld episode "The Journey," he played a car thief/murderer Tobias Lehigh Nagy. Howard appeared in "Stole a Badge" on season one of My Name Is Earl, and he was a guest star in the NBC show Heroes "I Am Sylar."

He played a child party guest at his birthday party in his film debut The Courtship of Eddie's Father (1963).

Roo in Disney's animated shorts Winnie the Pooh (1966) and Blustery Day (1968), as well as Howard Johnson's biography The Jungle Book (1967).

Howard has appeared in seventeen films directed by his brother, Ron Howard, including Ron's first directorial effort, Old Paint, a short film made when Clint was ten years old. In Ron's first full-length film, Grand Theft Auto. Howard founded The Kempsters, a new wave rock and roll band made up mainly of his neighbors on Kemp Street in 1981. At Madame Wong's West, the band appeared on a regular basis. In 1983, the band formed the band The band was formed in 1983. Although the Kempsters never recorded an album when together, Howard has recently released No Brains At All, a CD containing four tracks from the band's studios, and seven tracks from Madame Wong's West on October 17, 1982.
