Margaret Castelo Barretto (born July 20, 1979) is a Filipino film and television actress, product endorser, and entrepreneur. Barretto appeared in ABS-CBN in 1992 for a youth-oriented variety show, Ang TV.

She was first cast in Home Along Da Riles in the same year when the TV show's film version became her first film appearance in 1993.

In 1997, she played a lead role in Mula sa Puso, which lasted for three years and established her as a household name in Philippine Entertainment. Personal life

Margaret Castelo Barretto, a student at the University of Manila, Philippines, was born on July 20, 1979. She is the youngest of seven children born to Miguel and Estrella "Inday" Barretto. Gretchen Barretto and Marjorie Barretto are two sisters who are also actors.

Barretto's on-screen and real-life partner of four years, Rico Yan, died in March 2002, a month after their movie Got 2 Believe's box-office success. The actor died of acute hemorrhagic pancreatitis and his death was deemed one of the most shocking in Philippine showbiz.

Barretto married actor Raymart Santiago on March 27, 2006, but they divorced in 2013 — Sabina and Santino Santiago. Quia Barretto, a teen girl from 2015, adopted a child and named her Quia Barretto.

In 2013, Claudine and sisters Marjorie and Gretchen were embroiled in a public feud between them and their families. Claudine and Gretchen reconciled in February 2019.

Claudine officially registered on October 7, 2021, under the PDP-Laban political party's 2022 election. Claudine declared her support for presidential candidate Bongbong Marcos in the 2022 presidential elections on April 12, 2022.

Barretto was discovered by talent manager Douglas Quijano in 1992 through his older sister, Gretchen Barretto, who was also an actor. During the same year, she appeared on television for the ABS-CBN's youth-oriented variety show, Ang TV.

She appeared on television series Home Along Da Riles with Dolphy in 1993, which later introduced her to local television. She also appeared in television shows such as Oki Doki Doc (1993–2000), Palibhasa Lalake (1993–1998), and May Minamahal (1993).

She appeared in Pare Ko with Mark Anthony Fernandez and in Oki Doki Doc: The Movie in 1993.

In 1996, she appeared in several films with Star Cinema, including Radio Romance, her first film with Rico Yan, Mangarap Ka, her first major film role with Mark Anthony Fernandez, and Madrasta with Christopher de Leon and Sharon Cuneta.

In 1997, Barretto produced Mula sa Puso, her first television drama series. The series lasted for three years on ABS-CBN. Rico Yan, Paula Peralejo, and Boots Anson-Roa all starred in films including Home Along Da Riles 2 with Dolphy, Calcsin and Diether Ocampo, and F.L.A.M.E.M.E.
