Christian Bola Navarro, born 17 May 1984, is a Costa Rican footballer who plays for Saprissa as a winger.

Club career

Saprissa Bolaos has won several national championships, as well as a UNCAF Cup title and a CONCACAF Champions Cup crown. Bolaos and his crew won the 2005 FIFA Club World Championship Toyota Cup as the third best player of the tournament, according to FIFA. Following this success, he was invited to assist a ten-day trial with Liverpool, but he wasn't formally contracted on a permanent basis.

He signed a one-year loan with Charlton Athletic in August 6, 2006. However, he was unable to obtain a work permit because he had not played enough games for his country, and the contract was cancelled.

In the top-flight Danish Superliga championship, he signed a three-year deal with the Danish side OB on June 2nd. Bolaos, a center for other clubs, was trying to make an impact on the strong Danish midfield.

He signed a deal with a newly promoted Norwegian side, which will begin on November 6, 2008.

He made his senior national team debut in a May 2005 friendly match against Norway and has, as of November 2016, earned 71 caps, scoring 6 goals. He has represented his country in 25 FIFA World Cup qualification matches, as well as at the 2005, 2007 and 2011 CONCACAF Gold Cups.

He was selected in Costa Rica's 23 man squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia in May 2018. Bolaos became the first Costa Rican to play at three different FIFA World Cups by starting as a substitute in the first matchday loss against Serbia, defeating Serbia in the first matchday loss, and it overtook Michael Umaa as the Costa Rican with the most matches played at the tournament.
